Unexpected meeting at dawn

After dinner, Naomi went back to her room, took a bath and positioned herself in front of her laptops. She sat comfortably, put on her headphones and gave out a heavy breath.

"This is going to be a looong night." She cracked her knuckles and picked up her phone. She plugged a cord from the laptop in front of her to her phone. Then, she started sending an attachment from the laptop to her phone.

Once it was completed, she unplugged her phone and sent a few words, along with the attached file to an unknown number. Headquarters, to be precise.

After which, she got a notification, read it and smiled.

"This is really going to be a long night."

Naomi didn't sleep a wink the entire night. She was too busy putting clues together and taking down notes in her phone.

Around 4am, she stood up from her chair, stretched her limbs and went to bed. She knelt down and looked under her bed, dragging out her bag full of spyware. Then, she opened it and took out her scanning binoculars.

After which, she went to her window but didn't dare to open it. She was fine looking through the window glass, rather than taking her chances and falling off.

She picked up her headphone from where it was and put it on. With the binoculars positioned before her eyes, she zoomed her vision into the field and there she saw two suspicious people.

Scanning their faces and listening in on their conversation, she caught on to something.

"The boss says the shipping can't delay any longer." The one on the right said.

"But we can't rush things over here. If we make the slightest mistake, we may end up putting the whole process in jeopardy." The other said.

Naomi listened to this and smirked.

"You already have, you morons." She watched them as they started walking away.

"Let's just wait until the day of the sports competition." The one on the right suggested and the one on the left nodded. "I'll relay this to the boss."

Naomi immediately covered her curtains and went back to her seat. She connected a plug from her laptop to the binoculars. Their true identities immediately displayed in front of her and she grinned.

"Who would've known?" She exclaimed and got up once again. She went to her wardrobe, took out a black overall, put it on and checked her watch. It was 4:20 am. "I have from now till 5. Hope. Fast enough."

She timed herself and jumped out the window, intentionally this time. She shot out a ravelling hook and it hooked on to her window, allowing her a safe and steady landing to the ground.

With her feet, she withdrew the hook and ran into a particular direction.

Naomi didn't make it back to the time she set up. It was 5:30 and she still wasn't back. And 5:46, she showed up.

This time was a bit risky since there were a few students roaming about at this time.

She made sure the coast was clear before proceeding to climb her window without the ravelling hook so as not to attract anyone's attention.

In the process of climbing her window, she was already able to climb up but suddenly missed her step and fell back.

'Why does this keep happening to me?'

And again,as if luck was smiling on her, she fell into the arms of that guy who always snuck out at night, Pete.

Pete looked at her as she smiled awkwardly and said in a calm tone.

"I think we should stop meeting like this." There was no better word said and Naomi responded.

"Agreed."

Pete looked at Naomi's getup. She looked strange and her outfit was almost like that of a ninja but with her mouth uncovered.

Naomi noticed that he was staring at her outfit and cleared her throat. He took his eyes off her and dropped her on her feet.

"Why are you dressed that way?" He asked but she wasn't ready to answer, so she fired back with a question.

"Why are you sneaking into the dorm at this hour?" She asked and he looked away.

"Who said I was sneaking? I simply walked in and I'm dressed in our school's uniform, but what about you? You dressed in a very suspicious way." He pointed out.

"Why...I went for a morning jog."

"Dressed like that?" He asked confused.

"What does it matter how I dress to jog? Now you tell me, where have you been the entire night?" She snapped with narrowed eyes. Pete looked at her for a while before turning to head inside the dorm.

"None of your business." He put his hands in his pocket and just walked away. 'Note to self, girls have strange taste in dressing.' He looked over his shoulder to take a glance at her before facing the door. 'And they are very nosy.'

"Ugh, that guy!" Naomi exclaimed pissed off. "How is he so cocky? He's breaking school rules and is so annoying, gosh!" She stomped her feet on the floor and then something came to mind. "Wait, why am I feeling so annoyed and cranky all of a sudden?" She asked herself then it dawned on her.

She slumped on the ground feeling like an abandoned puppy.

"My life is over. Flash before my eyes!" She became dramatic and then she heard her watch beep. She checked it to see it was 6:00 already. "Oh no! I can't let people see me like this!" She shot her ravelling hook at her window and let it take her up, this time being careful enough not to fall.
