Kaer scoffed and once again started to read his book as the soulmark over the chest of Kyle moving through the alley suddenly glowed in a mysterious celestial blue glow before vanishing without any trace, and so the day ended as a Kaer and Luther were both seen sniggering in amusement as they returned back to their works as if nothing happened here, and finally on the evening of the next day.

The world was a rather tough one to live in with so many weird and unknown creatures, along with always chaotic neighborhood countries that were always at each other's throats and waging war wherever they had enough funds.

This led to most outer regions of the country that weren't in border regions turning into questionable survival zones, even with all sorts of guardians for the cities and towns.

But thankfully, the capitals of the nations were exceptionally safe, especially Arlington City, the capital of the Vespera Nation, which might be as big as the US of the world we live in.

Spread over a wide region with a radius of dozens of miles, the place was still rather densely populated, with hundreds of thousands of skyscraper buildings everywhere, residential regions, and such. The capital was made quite beautifully and systematically.

The edges of the city are completely covered with enormous walls to guard against any sort of problem or attack coming ahead. Inside those walls were all residential regions for people, with tens of thousands of blocks all over the city.

There were 16 districts in the city: 7 are residential districts for common people who are, of course, rich enough to live there, and 2 are in the same kind of area for business regions with huge buildings and store houses.

Then there are 3 districts for noble residence in the inner circle region of the city. Just from looks alone, this place is on the next level compared to the outskirts of the capital. Just around those districts are three more districts for elites.

Different from noble control and such, this place is made solely as a region for the bases of big guilds, organizations, global-scale business companies, and such. One is that these are also where the church and academy are placed.

And finally, at the centralmost region of this circular circuit of a city, is the 1st District, the Royal one, where resides the 'Imperial Family' and the main power base of the entire nation as a whole. Today, as the sun had set on one of a few mansions in the 11th District, which was the residence of extremely rich commoners, the light of celebration had brightened up the place.

The mansion deserved its glory with so much land and an enormously bright garden it had in front of it, and inside the mansion at the hall, a man dressed in a beautiful smooth dark suit with a bit of a rough mustache and little brown beards was seen addressing a crowd dressed in formal celebration clothes with a wine glass in his hand.

"The Steven Family, thank you all for taking your time today for the celebration of my daughter's coming-of-age ceremony! It's a beautiful occasion, as my daughter has managed to obtain a 4-Star Soulmark, surpassing the limits that our family has had until now.

It's a glorious occasion, as she can finally show her contributions to the nation and our people by living a life like others. It's a blessing to have what my family has right now, but the blessing becomes even brighter with my daughter Lisa here."

As he said, Lisa, the girl who visited Kaer Shop a few days ago, was seen coming over the top of the stairs wearing a beautiful, clean dress with a smile on her face, along with her mother and little sister behind her.

"Congratulations!"

"You did really well!"

"Haha! Finally about time!"

"Really, what a sweet child!"

The crowd of people was all proud and happy, cheering for her. Lisa also felt joy and greeted them with a slight, graceful gesture. Slowly coming down from the stairs along with her family, the crowd immediately surrounded them.

"You look really beautiful!"

"Haha! A lady like her mother!"

"No! I would say she is just like her father."

"My! She really got the eyes!"

The crowd of guests immediately surrounded her, cheering and congratulating her with bright, cheerful smiles. She also started to greet the crowd, but her eyes were still running around the whole crowd.

'This man! He still didn't come! I told him I would be angry so seriously, yet still he dares! I will eat him alive tomorrow morning! He is just lazy! Too lazy!!!!'

Lisa's soul was filled with frowns as she kept greeting others with smiles without any change in behavior—a rather mature act from a young lady. It was a busy rush and a bit disappointing too, but she went ahead with all the procedures. It was a tiring process until finally she was left alone as people started to greet others in the room, and she just sat over one of the seats, drinking juice, all exhausted and frustrated.

"Sigh... Really, this man..."

"Which man?"

She released a deep sigh, looking at the ceiling of the mansion, but just then suddenly Kaer was seen quietly taking a seat beside her while offering her a bouquet of the flowers she loved along with a gift box.

Lisa was suddenly left stunned as she saw Kaer in a new hairstyle and a lean, tight three-piece black and purple suit.

"You came??"

"Lucky for you~"

Kaer shamelessly replied with a smile on his face, as Lisa, on the other hand, seemed clearly quite happy despite Kaer's shameless behavior, but suddenly her eyes started to run around the place with a frown as she questioned

"Did Luther come too?"

"Well, he did, but I got him to babysit Claire for now."

Kaer replied as he pointed towards a corner of the hall where the little sister of Lisa, Claire, was seen happily attempting to pull Luther's shirt, but he was handling the kid quite smoothly while making various women gasp in shock.

"Good job!!!"

Lisa gave Kaer a big thumbs-up. Kaer also smiled and questioned

"So, where do you plan to go now? The Coming Age of Ceremony is done already; 4 Star Soulmark is rather cool too; in 2 years you will graduate high school; what are the plans after that?"

"Academy at Inner Capital Circle, I have decided to work as a member of the Intelligence Forces! Cool right?"

Lisa replied brightly, and Kaer was also impressed by the decision, as he commented.

"Well yeah, 4 Star Soulmark is cool here, but as you go higher, it's just a bit above average among the elites. Actually, going for intelligence forces, where it's more about working with strategies and records, is better for you, but it's not an easy place to go."

Kaer said that Lisa's face suddenly got filled with a grin as she flashed a smirk and replied

"Baron Conrad, the head of the Law Enforcement Department! He is my father's cousin! He had been taking care of me for years, you know! He promised to guide me ahead!"

"Ah, darn nepotism..."

Kaer coldly scoffed, but hearing him, Lisa immediately got red with rage as she started smashing her fist towards his face, but Kaer just grinned as he grabbed all the flower punches.

"You! You really don't care about others feelings! Damn it! How am I stuck with you?"

"Move on then."

"Cold bastard!!!"

Kaer was having more fun the more frustrated she acted, but just then a shadow of a man built like a bulk wall covered them both as his cold voice attracted a lot of attention.

"Who might you be to act so casually with the lady here?"
