As Isabelle and Phoenix exited through the doors to the gardens, they were greeted with the sights of hundreds of people gathered together celebrating, chatting, dancing and playing games. Laughter could be heard coming from all directions.
The festival play, much like the coronation play, took place in one of the largest royal courtyards, and so there wasn't even a need for transportation. Isabelle wasn't certain if that was out of convenience or a sign of how important the play was.
Music floated through the air, blending perfectly with the cheerful sounds of conversations nearby.
Children ran along the walkways of the courtyard excitedly, chasing each other with colorful streamers while wearing masks shaped like various animals.
As they ran about, they chanted a phrase she didn't understand - but then, with children, that could simply have been something made up by them in the moment.
