It wasn't even so much that they'd walked in and immediately looked like the stuck up noble types.
It was that they'd looked her right in the eyes, saw her husbands sitting beside her, saw her baby, and didn't even look the least bit apologetic or even mildly ashamed to have kept them waiting. And that they had been rude and insulting to their maid.
They could have waited until the meeting was over and the empress was no longer paying attention, but they'd started their rudeness before even greeting her.
It was hard to imagine such behavior wasn't deliberate. Which. She was pretty sure someone would say showed some moxie, to intentionally offend their ruler.
She did not feel particularly impressed. Just insulted.
Even with that in mind.
