I'm not falling for a trap, I'm just taking a nap

She groaned and laid her face in the pillow. Aggressively.

One could even say she threw herself into bed in a huff. But that sounded unflattering, so she chose not to say it that way.

She was. Tired. So very, very tired. It wasn't like she had any excuse to be tired. She hadn't been the one competing in the tournament today, obviously. She'd simply sat there and watched.

But.

She'd felt like she had to be on her best behavior the entire time, because of Lyov's family. And their. Judgy stares.

It wasn't that they had any sway over her, of course, but if they were disapproving of her it would be much more difficult to do things like the reconciliation she wanted for Lyov.

Of course, she really wasn't on her ultimate best behavior. She definitely could have behaved a bit better.

But she was Empress, and she had to draw a line somewhere, right??

And they. Did not like that. They didn't appreciate or recognize any of her efforts!
