He took the cup she offered, sipping it gratefully. "Morning," he replied, his mind still clouded with the events of the night before.

"Don't forget, we're leaving for our trip tomorrow," she reminded him, her eyes twinkling with excitement.

He nodded, trying to muster the same enthusiasm. "Yeah, I remember."

Back at the mansion, I was doing my best to keep myself busy. I spent the morning caring for Penny, trying to ignore the gnawing anxiety that had settled in my chest. I knew Benjamin had been distant lately, and it was taking a toll on me.
