"Thank you." I bowed my head, my cheeks flushing, unsure what to say next because I didn't really want to talk about it. What was done was done, and these two people didn't have anything to do with what Marcus did to Dad. I was beginning to see that now. "I... I will admit that me coming here was a little bit for selfish reasons." 


Gran swallowed a huge bite of cobbler. "Oh, how so?" 


"People think she killed Jake as part of a plot to watch Speedy Zone go down in flames." Travis turned to me with a knowing smile. "She's trying to make nice and mend the rift."
