"Used to be your boss..."
He nodded. "She fired me. I was the barista there, too. One day she said my coffee tasted bitter and burnt even though I'd made it the same as always in the eight months I'd been there. She threw her cup full of hot coffee at me and told me to get out. Thankfully, I ducked."
"Wow. That's awful. I'm sorry that happened." I'd never had a bad boss, unless I counted myself. Most days, I got along with myself just fine. I felt for those who had to deal with bad bosses though.
"RaeRae had a flare for the dramatic." He gestured to the bumper stickers on the coffee shop's window. "Still does. Her family too. She's always been a lot."
"What do you mean by that?"
