"Relax," I told them. "It's just Other Me. I'm relatively harmless. I think." A shiver wound up my spine and squeezed anyway though. It was still eerie seeing me like this.
Out in the parking lot, Chauffeur Ethen didn't seem to notice a thing. His pose hadn't changed, one hand lifted to block the floodlight's glare and the other clutched to his phone at his ear.
Cass stepped forward to look inside her cauldron. "There's some inside. Hurry, um, Other Victoria."
Other Me swept forward in a sea of shadows, bent to pick up the sixth empty cup, and scooped some of the potion up inside. She downed it without hesitation. Other Me was a lot braver than I was.
"Now what?" Forever asked, still shrinking away from Other Me. "Did it work?"
"Not quite. I have to read the spell." I fished out the folded yellow paper from my pocket and cleared my throat. Even though I had the spell memorized, my voice wobbled with nerves since this spell wasn't like any other I'd ever done. "'Dear Time,
