CHAPTER 223 Ambush

I paced the living room of the packhouse, heart hammering and all my instincts screaming.

Dad had her. I knew it. It had to be him who’d taken her. Nothing else made sense. But he hadn’t reached out. Hadn’t threatened me or her. He was utterly silent.

She couldn’t be dead. She wouldn’t be dead. I’d know if the bond was severed… wouldn’t I?

And what the fuck had he done with Charlie?

Fear and rage speared through me, but my head spun too.

Did I confront him head on?

Mack, Natalie, and Jack all stood in the room watching me, waiting.

“I have to talk to him. I have to,” I muttered. “There’s no other choice. But I can’t challenge him outright. The minute I do he can kill her. He can’t kill her right now, not without weakening himself.”

  “What?” Jack asked, confused.

Mack explained to him what Stephen had told us while I continued pacing trying to think ahead, trying to see my father’s steps—what he would do, and how.
