Wand Maker

They arrived in front of the wand place but it didn't look like a shop it looked like a house. Nome suddenly said. "Most importantly never invite anyone in unless I inspect them first there is more to this world you haven't learned of yet."

Nome knocked on the door lightly.

Sage looked puzzled by Nomes words. "Yes sir" she replies to him like a teacher giving her instructions. While she looks at the wand building with curiosity.

The door swung open and a very old man slammed the door against the wall as a wand met Nomes neck.

"Solomon." He said as a small creature moved in the shadows behind him.

Sage flinched at the old man's sudden hostility to Nome. She shifted closer to Nome feeling a little scared.

"Salem ....." The old man huffed as he lowered the wand. "What do you want cat."

"I have a new witch and I've only entrusted your bloodline to make my witches wands you very well should know why I'm here." He said as he pulled sage in front of him.

Sage gave the old man a soft smile and lightly waved hello to him.

He leaned down and stroked his white beard. "What's the cats new name?" He asked her.

"Nome Nutcracker sir" she replied clear and calm in her tone.

He lifted his gaze to Nome. "Mr. Nutcracker you have her wand pieces then?"

Nome nodded as he withdrew the items from his pockets. The two viles and the long feather.

Sage watched them with curiosity about what will happen with those peices.

"Come in girl the cat stays out." He said as he looked in her eyes.

"Yes sir" she replied with a smile. Then she stepped inside as he told her to do.

Nome leaned against the wall outside patiently as sage entered.

Sage walked forward away from the door. then she stood awaiting for the old mans next instructions.

The door shut behind her without anyone touching it as he led her to a soft velvet chair. "Sit dear we can get started now don't mind the dust would you like a hot drink?"

sage walked over then sat down in the velvet chair.

"yes sir. if that is okay with you" she replied back with a kind smile.

Solomon brewed a hot green tea and brought over a tray of cookies. "Now let me see you dearest they don't make wands from nature like I do anymore most are forged with iron or steel you know " A hiss could be heard off in the distance as unease crept up her spine.

Sage holds back a shiver the best she can

"I guess so but why deny the handy work and beauty in nature crafted items. Nome seems to prefer your craft verses the metal made ones. They are beautiful as well but the nature craft feels like it has deeper connections then metal" she spoke honestly as she thought of wood crafts she has seen before.

"Your precisely right young lady." Solomon said as he looked around.

"Where did I set my glasses...." he grumbled when suddenly a pair of spectacles fell from above prompting sage to look up.

Sage looked up from were the glasses were at with curiosity. A massive snake lay coiled in the rafters one would easily assume an anaconda. Sage looked at the snake in amazement.

"Is the serpent your familiar sir?" She asked him with her head tilting intrigued.

"Hmm oh Jade yes she has been a family familiar for generations."He said as he set his glasses on his nose and began taking your arm measurements.

"Thats cool. Miss jade looks lovely" sage replied as she watched him work.

"Don't butter up to her she gets a big head last person who did she ate their familiar."

"I'll keep that in mind sir" she replied suprised.

Once Solomon finished sizing you up he jotted down your address and pushed you out the door.

"It'll come in the mail when I'm finished." He said as he shut you outside. Nome was sitting against the old mailbox sleeping lazily. Sage looked back at the door then made her way over to Nome. His head was leaned down and his messy long hair covered my face he needed a trim. Sage walked up to him and took a deep breath then slapped Nome's arm

"you could have warned me what could happen in their, i was complementing the serpent familar and he told me if i keep that up she would eat you!" She said in a lightly raised tone with her pitch going higher letting out her emotions she held back. Nome jumped startled awake by sage suddenly yelling at him. Sage looked at him supprised not realizing that he was asleep.

"oh snap sorry i thought you were awake not asleep Nome"

He leaned against the mailbox after knocking his head against it rubbing the spot he had just bumped.

"That damned snakes still alive...." He groaned out.

"yes she is" sage confirmed it for Nome with a puzzled tone. she tilted her head to the side.

"I was being nice to her and the wand maker told me to be careful on complementing her. cause if i did it too much she could eat you" she told him rubbing her arm like she is trying to soothe herself.

He began to burst out laughing leaning back hugging his stomach his cat like teeth in full display as he laughed heavily it brought tears to his eyes and his tail swayed. "bwahhahahhahha"

Sage puffed out her cheeks "how is that funny" she said crossing her arms across her chest.

"Sweetheart your adorable. That snake couldn't lay a finger on me much less her tongue." Nome smiled broadly for the first time his fanged grin glinting.

"I'm glad you were worried about me though." He said as he stood up dusting off.

sage let out a sigh of relief.

"That is a relief. I would feel horrible if something bad happened to you Nome" she admitted as she calmed down some.

Nome lifts her chin gently.

"It's my job to worry about you not you me silly witch."

"But it doesnt seem fair to not worrying about you" sage replied looking up at him with light pink blush on her face.

"It's my job to worry sweetheart." Nome says as he looks out behind sage noticing cloud cover and the sun setting.

"o-okay" sage replies looking up at the sky.

"I guess it is time to head home"

He nodded and offered his arm to escort her like a gentleman.

Sage gently took his arm then gave him a smile.

"Today has been an adventurous day"

"It smells of rain. We should hurry back home." Nome said his appearance more cat like his nails more clawed as he now had whiskers. Each step he took glided with his long stride. As he seemed to scoop you up gracefully walking through the witches town and to everyone else passing by they didn't spare a glance as if this was normal here.

Sage nodded as she held onto Nomes shirt. "Do you think we will get home before it rains?" she asked as she see his features look more cat like.

"You can count on it." He said as they hit the barrier into the alleyway as nome had fur etching across his cheeks his attire torn as he seemed more like a cat. He began to move faster.

Sage watches as Nome moves faster past people and other objects along the pathway home. Sage had the look of amazement on her features.

He suddenly pulled you in closer and into a bridal carry.

"Hold on tight."

He lept incredibly high from the shadows up three stories as he landed on both feet with grace he moved with catlike speed and grace as he lept from building to building.

Sage holds on to him as she let out squeak in suprise hiding her face in his chest.
