On a shelf in an unimportant gaming store is a box on a shelf. A game called Flow of the Universe. Its just the title on a box covered in stars with four different coloured auroras with a single consistant colour twisting around each other. The colours are yellow, red, blue, and purple.
???: "So what do you think of it? It looks interesting right?"
Me: "Well it looks like. . . something I guess. The name sounds Sci-fi but the imagry is vauge."
I keep looking at it for it to start meaning something to me. I'm honestly too tired for this. I woke up minutes ago and my fried dragged me here to see this game.
???: "Its actually A Fantasy VRMMORPG."
Me: "And thats supposed to sway me how?"
???: "I get to cause another apocolypse if I choose to go down the same road."
I pause and glare to the man standing beside me. He is my good friend who demands to be called a strange name and also demanded that I be here with my wallet.
Me: "Decades, Why am I here?"
???-> Decades: "I want you to get this game. It can be your new source of fun since I wrecked one of your favorites."
Me: "What makes this game special exactly?"
Decades: "The game has four magic systems and they are Blessings, Aura, Magic, and Curses. To briefly describe them all Blessings are trade deals, Aura is grinding life, Magic is memorization, and Curses is just acumulating Trauma."
I pause for a moment. I look at the bastard then to the box. I mentally try and translate what he just told me. I fail to do so. I look back at him.
Me: "What?"
Decades: "It was released yesterday and I've been waiting a few years for it to release and now its here so I want you to join me."
Me: "So you woke be up at 6 a.m just to come to this store to get this game. Why couldn't you drag me here later? Or better yet buy it for me and deliver it to me."
Decades: "We both know you don't take reccomendations unless you find an appeal within that thing and also if we came later it would be sold out."
I stare at the box and then tilt my head to the left only to see 5 more of this same game. I move my head back to neutral and tilt to the right and see 7 boxes to that side. I look back to my friend Decades.
Me: "Dude, what are you talking about?"
Decades: "Remember yesterday when we played some Glottony but mostly Nebula due to them having some events added."
Me: "Yes you commited many warcrimes due to zenophobia and I played support to help you."
Decades: "Exactly while me, you and millions of others participated in one of the recent events a few million people went to stores and bought out the game. Also we are at Reginald's Ransome. Thats why there are so much of these here because one, no one but a few people come here and two he bought alot."
Me: "So thats it? You just want me to buy this game and join you in playing it? Do you just want another ally incase you decide to start another apocolypse?"
Decades: "Oh no I just want to have fun with my pal in what is suposed to be the new king of VR Fantasy. Not that Throne Revolution set that high of a bar."
I pause to think again. A new game to replace my old game with four power systems which means fighting people should be fun. That and bosses could be crazy fun in addition. Wait a minute I don't actually know anything about these systems because Decades poorly explained it.
Me: I'm interested now. You just have to properly explain the power systems properly so I can decide if I want to play."
Decades: "Alright so like I said their are four total Blessing, Aura, Magic, and Curse. You'll either be choosing Curse or Aura, but I'll explain them all.
1.Blessing is the power given to someone via a contracts. You can contract anything as long as you have consent.
2.Aura is your life force growing and covering your body with qualities related to your life experiences and personal traits.
3.Magic is learining techniques to move your mana and casting spells.
4.Curse is binding a supernatural force to yourself to use its abilities as if their were your own."
Me: "Currently Aura appeals to me the most. What made you think Curse would appeal to me."
Decades: "Because aura takes a while and the qualities is gains may not float the users boat. That and it takes a while to build up. Curse makes you stronger faster and we both know about the grind for power."
That brought back some bad memories. Horrid memories. I can still hear the thunder of footsteps as thousands ran. They were all cowards.
Decades & I: "Those Cowards will Burn."
After the statement I collect my thoughts and decide to buy the game. I grab a box off the shelf.
Me: "You said this will surpass the bar made by Throne Revolution. If I play this game and end up hating it then you are going to pay be so I break even with this purchase."
Decades: "You won't regret it buddy."
