Broken... Or Protected??

[PARK]

The warriors watched helplessly as their Alpha fell to his knees. They knew that the relationship between the Alpha and his father was complicated, but above all else, they were father and son, and there wasn't a pure relationship other than that… Right?

"Where is Berto?" Alpha Park asked as he struggled to get up. His mother had been shaking and yet somehow he had managed to be more shocked than the woman who had come to him for support.

Perhaps he was always meant to leave the people he loved broken, yeah? Then again, wasn't it the people he loved that had been too quick to ruin him for everyone else? Was it only fair if the perpetrator was him?

"In the dungeons, Alpha," one of the warriors said and Alpha Park left for the dungeons.

Walking through the Kiyoto hallways reminded the Alpha of the time he had been Agust's Jiminie. The Lycan King's palace's hallways had had blood, but Agust's Jiminie had managed to clean it all up and get a fine reward in the process.

But would Agust's Jiminie show up this time, when the Alpha was with so many questions, and more than anything, would Berto, the same man who had dared to defile him, be able to give him any answers?

Alpha Park hadn't realized when he reached the dungeons, but when he found himself standing outside the one that held Berto, Alpha Park wasn't sure what to feel. He couldn't smell any Lycan scent on Berto.

It was almost like the man before him was a human. But surely humans weren't ever going to be able to kill an Alpha as strong as his father, right? Even in his worst state, the former Kiyoto Alpha was way stronger than the humans.

The math isn't adding up and Alpha Park hoped that he would get answers.

"If it isn't the King's little mate," Berto greeted and Alpha Park stared at him coldly.

It wasn't news that the Alpha was mated and it was just a matter of time before his mom figured that out. He didn't care though, because despite Agust being the devil himself, Alpha Park wasn't complaining that he bore the mark of a devil.

If anything, he was way too proud of that mark. It reminded him that even in hell, he would always have someone to look out for him, someone who loved him more than life yet wouldn't ever accept it.

It was strange being in love with Agust or even mating with him, but then Alpha Park was complex to many. Maybe he would find a way out of this, after all, there wouldn't be any complications, yeah?

"You didn't kill my father, Berto. So, who did?" Alpha Park asked, not being one to beat around the bush, he had been around Lycans long enough to know that they loved dragging shit out.

And while Alpha Park would have loved to play that little game with Berto right now, he was in the mood for it. His father was dead and that meant that there was so much pressure on him, not to mention he had no one to seek ruling advice from.

He was screwed in all ways to hell and he needed to know why.

"He said you were smart enough to figure it out, little Alpha. He said you wouldn't rest till you got to the bottom of it all. So he told me to tell you that he did it, for you. He did it, because it was the only way to save you," Berto said, his nonchalant voice changing.

If Alpha Park didn't know the bastard before him, he could have assumed that this was just another game for them. But then Berto wasn't joking., he sounded serious, like he was here to deliver a message to the Alpha.

"He? Who the fuck is he?" Alpha Park asked even though he had a feeling that he knew what Berto was talking about. Still it didn't make any sense that the king would want to save him.

Who the fuck was he even being saved from? The truth wasn't something that Jiminie had been accustomed to and honestly, the fact that this was even more vague, was screening with his head.

He wanted straight answers and he hoped to the goddess that he would find them with Berto. It was stupid, hoping to get answers from a bastard like Berto, but then he didn't have that many options lying around for him to figure out easily.

He didn't even have the time, because his father was definitely going to be cremated today. There was no time for him to mourn… but his people had been in mourning for three whole days. That shit broke the Alpha's heart a thousandfold.

"You know him, Alpha Park. You know him so well. I don't know what the fuck he meant by saving you, and that included killing your father, but he told me to tell you that if he had to do it again, he would in a heartbeat," Berto said, with no smugness.

Alpha Park looked at the Lycan now human and before he could say something else, he watched in shock as Berto took his own life, by clawing himself apart. A human couldn't do that, but then he had been born a Lycan.

The dilemma remained with the Alpha as he watched his only lead to whoever that was, disappear. He had a feeling that he knew who had done this, but then it made no sense.

King Agust had kidnapped him and kept him there for days on end. He hadn't once bothered to talk about fathers or even their affiliates. All of this was confusing, and once again, the Alpha was left in dilemma.

What was he supposed to do?

How was he supposed to deal with this?

"Mimi!! What the fuck happened?" Luna Park called out to her son when she realized that he had been too silent. Even the mind links were silent. It was like the Alpha wasn't even sure what the hell was going on.

"I'm so sorry, Mom. I couldn't have been a better son. I hope you someday forgive me for everything," the Alpha said as he watched Berto turn to ashes right in front of them. It was almost like no one wanted Berto to remain there or even give more hints.

It was all so fucked up, but the Alpha was sure this had to be Agust's doing. Only King Ming Xiao Zhu was that insane, but that didn't answer the question of what he was being saved from.

It was confusing as hell and maybe someday, the Alpha would get to the bottom of this.

Maybe, just maybe, his skies wouldn't always be riddled with darkness.

"What did he do to you?" Luna Park asked as she watched her son stare at the emptiness for a while. She was a Luna and she saw what someone who had been tortured endlessly looked like.

Her son may have been normal to many, but Luna could see it.

Her son was not the same.

He was different, way too different, and instead of seeing that as a good thing, Luna Park could feel her heart shattering for the hundredth time in one day. Her son was breaking apart and she had no way to fix him.

"Mimi… What did the Lycan king do to you, my child? I'll kill him, if I get my hands on him,'' Luna said to his son, who was slowly losing consciousness. It was all so sudden, but the Alpha's mother seemed to have unlocked her son's memory.

"I'll kill them all," Agust had said distantly. Was this what the king had meant?

Well, Jiminie wasn't sure of it anymore, because right before he could dive into whatever memory that was, he felt his eyes close and he willingly gave in to the darkness. There was no need to fight it anyway.
