Chapter Eight

Cecelia (Aunt Ce) POV

I left before anyone woke this morning, even before the sun was up. I have to travel to Cape Cod to fetch some ingredients for some potions, a long way to go for some measly herbs, by they are dire to the potions. Before I left the house I put a spell on the door entrance into my private space, the spell is linked to a crystal ball that I carry with me, so when a certain child enters the door, a colour with appear within the crystal ball. I already know who will enter as they have done it before, but I’ve been keeping my mouth closed. Watching her squirm is so much more satisfying then I could ever thought. I will be on this road for quite some days, the scenery has always captured my attention. Just before night fall came, we just arrived in Plymouth. The horseman finds a decent inn, for me and the horses to rest up. I enter the Inn, request a room, and food to be sent up to my room. After arriving to my room, a certain glowing was coming from with in my travel bag. I glimpse around to make sure no one can see the interaction of the crystal ball. With seeing the halls clear of eyes, I quickly enter my room, open my bag, and look at the bright pink glow lights up the room within. Madison. She has found it and probably looking for that book, I mistakenly left out the other night. What she doesn’t know is that its within my travel bag. She can’t know everything, not yet anyways. That’s time with come, and it will be splendid.

Madison POV

I awaken to the sound of shouting outside my bedroom door, I wipe the sleep away and groggily slip out o bed. I almost trip over the carpet but find my footing. I can still hear the shouting at my door, I open it up, to find Henry standing there, looking very angrily at me. Confused, I simply ask him “Yes Henry, what is it that’s got your pants into a twist this morning”. Henry is normally the calm and placid person out of us three, but its clear that today, something dire must’ve happened. “I’ve been shouting for your attention for hours, its now 11 in the morning and you’ve missed breakfast, luckily, I’ve asked the chef to leave a plate aside. Get your lazy butt out of bed” Henry said calming himself down. I thought with Aunt Ce gone, I would be able to sleep without getting into trouble, how wrong was I. “Thank you” I replied politely, Henry just stared at me and then trotted off downstairs. I closed my door and headed my closet and grabbed out a pale green flowery dress with matching flats. I quickly got dressed and walked over to my vanity. I glimpsed at my appearance and noticed the dark rings around my eyes, I put on some cream and tied my hair up in a messy bun. After making sure I was decent, I headed downstairs and entered the kitchen. I saw the chef preparing our lunch meal, he glanced at me and pointed to the plate sitting on the bench close to the door. I thanked him and entered into the dining room. I sat at my spot and ate away at my fruit and cheese. Just before I finished my food, our housekeeper Gretta entered the dining room, “Good morning, dear” She kindly said, she noticed that I had finished my meal at that time and grabbed my plate to take into the kitchen. I thanked her and exited the dining room. I looked out the windows and thought it would be a lovely day to roam he gardens; I needed some fresh air since I locked myself up in my bedroom for a few days. On the way to the back door, I walk pass the library, taking a glimpse at the hidden doorway, thinking if I should take another look down there again, but choose not to as the boys will be entering the house any moment for their lunch. As I get closer to the back door, I noticed it was left open, must’ve been Grey as he’s always too lazy to close the door. I roll my eyes and walk outside, making sure to close the door behind me.

I head towards the fountain, with the thoughts of the hidden room. When I arrive, I end up noticing that I haven’t heard or seen my cousin’s once, which kind of intrigued me and made me think again about heading down those stairs again. I stand their waiting a few minutes to see if the boys are close by, maybe they’ve already heading inside for lunch. So, I decided to head in to check if they have, but I don’t see or hear them. The whole house seemed to be deserted, which is kind of weird. That’s when I decided to head towards the library, I look around to find some sort of life, but its dead, dead quiet. I walk towards the door and pull the lever. I check once more, no life, only my cat staring at me, which I didn’t even notice her there. Brushing it off, I take a step inside, allowing the dark to swallow me, as I take the step, the door once again closes behind me. Leaving me alone in the dark damp stairwell.
