Chapter 55 Your Name

Ten minutes later Razor was speechless as he stared at the proof on his desk. "Fuck, this is really who he is? This is who I saved? Fuck, I mean according to this he should be a pampered pretty boy." "I think he was, we saw how immaculate his nails, skin, and hair were, I mean, they're not bad now but they were better when he first got here and based on how the girls keep drooling after him, his pretty face does serve him well." Blade laughs.

"Yeah, but this still doesn't explain how he could do all we have seen him do. I mean, it could've something to do with where he came from, those people don't fuck around but still, this dude single-handedly took out more than half of the other side's gang, including the leader, but how? Fuck." Razor ran his hands over his face and looked closer at the proof before him.

"Un-fucking-believeable, fuck, I need to add a few more zeros on my asking price." Razor snorts. "Alright, I have a plan." A smirk spread across his face as he rubs his hands together.

The following night Liah's household had just sat down to dinner when Anthony and Jermaine entered the house. "Hey, family." "Good night."Anthony and Jermaine greets them. "Night," They greet them back, and Michael greets them both with a nod. "Hey Michael, ready to go home?" Anthony asks. "And where exactly is that?" Michael asks without looking at them. "The base, of course, where else? The boss sends us to get you." Anthony walked towards the table and took up a plate.

"What?" Liah asks almost choking. "Yep, he leave with us tonight," Anthony adds handing Jermaine the plate of food and making another plate for himself. "He can't leave, what if those men come back?" Zoey asks. "Don't worry, I have that handled," Anthony informs her.

"But why so sudden?" Zoey asks tears in her eyes. "He's needed back at the base. Get packed, we'll wait for you outside." With the plates of food and drinks in their hands, Anthony and Jermaine went back outside.

Half an hour later Michael was packed and standing by the door. "I'm sorry the meditation exercise didn't bring your memories back." Zoey cries hugging him. "Well, it wasn't for a lack of trying. Thank you for all your effort." He hugs her back.

"I'm going to miss you, please take care of yourself, and don't forget that you're having Christmas dinner with us, okay," Zoey says between sniffles. "Okay." he smiles down at her. "Call me," Liah whispers hugging him tightly when Zoey steps away. "I will." He wink at her.

"Take care, young man, it was good having you here." Her mother pats his shoulder. "Here, take a slice of cornmeal pudding with you." "This looks a lot bigger than a slice.' He chuckles. "Oh, you're right, give me back that piece and I'll give you a smaller slice." Her mother smiled reaching for the pudding in his hand.

"No deal." He smiles putting the pudding behind him. "Mhm-hmm thought so." She laughs. "Thank you for accommodating me." He smiles hugging her. "Coast is clear, let's go," Anthony calls a few feet away. He turns and waves at them before following Anthony to the car.

How can he be gone? Liah cries. She hardly got to spend any alone time with him. She only got to be intimate with him once since the break-in and now he was gone, back to Razor's house, where she probably won't get to see him for a long time.

Why couldn't she just have him to herself? Why did everyone and everything keep getting in the way of them being together? She sat on the bathroom floor, hugged her knees to her chest, and wept.

Michael groans as he steps into Razor's house. He really didn't miss this place or the people in it, how he wished he was in his own home, with his family wherever that was, instead of this place. He thought with a sigh.

"Leave your suitcases over there, the boss wants you all to join him in the courtyard. One of the men announces and continues on his way.

What? Will he be required to beat thirty of his men again? Michael snorts. Well, he was due for a workout, so if that was the case, then so be it. Taking a deep breath he follows the man out onto the courtyard where most of Razor's men were gathered.

"Finally, all of you, get up here." Razor orders. "I've some business in Kingston that's going to take about two weeks, I'll be leaving Michael in charge while I'm away," Razor announces loudly.

"Wait, what?" Michael's eyes snap to Razor's as the men mumbles among themselves.

"Quiet! I'm not done." Razor barks. "Now, Blade you'll be Michael's right-hand man, and Anthony, you'll be Blade's right-hand man. You will all treat Michael with the same respect you've shown me. The rest of you already know what you should do, get my shipment out on time, collect my money and give it to Michael and protect this fucking community. If a mother-fucker trespass, then take them the fuck out. Do I make myself clear?" He barks.

"Yes Boss." The men all answer in unison. "Good, now, does anyone have a problem with my decision?" One man raised his hand but before he could say a word Razor pulled his gun which had on a silencer and shot the man in the neck.

"Does anyone else have a fucking problem with my decision?" Razor asks glaring at the men. The men glance at each other but no one says a word. "Good, now get back to work!" "And if I refuse?" Michael asks, his tone cold but calm.

Razor walks over to him and standing only inches from him glares at him with a sickening evil smirk on his face. "Then I'll make you wish you had actually broken in that fresh little piece of ass that I put in your room that night," Razor says in a low tone so only Michael could hear him, Michael narrows his eyes at him but said nothing.

"What? You thought you actually had me fooled? From the moment I put her in your room, I knew you wouldn't go through with it, you self-righteous prick, but if you refuse me now, I'll have no choice but to send back for her and have my men take turns with her in front of you and her little lover boy over there, then blame everything on you." Razor sneers.

"Now, knowing him and how serious he is about his pretty little thing, he would be all up on you like wheat on rice, and knowing you, you would probably end up killing the poor bastard, in self-defense, of course, leaving the pretty little thing alone and unprotected, hmm." Razor rubs his chin.

"Messy all the way around, isn't it?' Razor smirk. "I really do not like you." Michael sneers at him. " I know, but what you need to be grateful for, is the fact that I like you, because if I didn't, you wouldn't still be breathing." Razor wink at him. "So, should I send for her? Or will you do as you are told?" Michael narrowed his eyes at him but said nothing.

"Okay then," Razor says taking out his phone and began punching in a number. Michael groaned and took a deep breath before answering. "I will comply." "Wise choice." Razor pats Michael's shoulder, the evil grin on his face widening. "Now, go get your things and meet me in the study and if you continue to be a good boy and do what you're told, I promise to give you a nice surprise when I return," Razor says the grin still plastered on his face.

"How about you take that surprise and shove it where the sun doesn't shine," Michael growls at him. "You wouldn't be saying that if you knew what it was," Razor says in a sing-song tone as he pushes past Michael on his way toward the house.

"Are you sure about this, Boss?" Blade asks catching up to Razor as he makes his way to his study. "Are you questioning my decision?" Razor asks narrowing his eyes at Blade. "No, no, I was only wondering." "His people have been training him to lead since he was twelve, so let's see how much he has learned."

"Yeah, but he doesn't remember any of that." "His mind might not, but his body does, let's see how well he adapts to his future position." "So, are we going to eventually tell him who he is?" Blade asks. "Yes, when I return, so keep your fucking mouth shut until then, got it?" "Yes Boss."

"Ready to go?" Razor asks entering the room where Jermaine was packing. "Almost Boss," Jermaine says snapping out of his daze and resuming his packing. "What's going on? Why are you stalling? You want to stay with your newfound friend or what?" Razor asks narrowing his eyes at him. "No...no... Boss, I'm almost ready." "Meet me downstairs in ten minutes." Razor growls at him. "Yes Boss."

"You do not wish to accompany him?" Michael asks a few minutes later from the open doorway. "What I want doesn't matter, if the Boss wants me there, then that's where I will be, take care of yourself, I'll see you when I get back," Jermaine says walking away from him.

This couldn't be happening, it just couldn't. Why in the name of Liah's Holy One would Razor leave him in charge of his gang? What did he know about leading a gang? He saw how Razor did it, but was he to be as ruthless as that bastard? No way in hell would he imitate that bastard's actions.

Oh, why? Why was this happening to him? Why was he placed in this position? Was this Liah's Holy one's punishment for him? Running his fingers through his hair, he sighs heavily.

Not only did Razor put him in charge, he also put him in his room. He was now pacing the floor of Razor's bedroom. The leader's private quarters. The leader, which was the role he now plays

Why? Why couldn't he just remember who he was so he could go home already? Will he ever regain his memories? He groans. The most pressing question was, how will his new role affect his relationship with Liah?

A few minutes later he enters the dining room where some of the men are having dinner. They were talking among themselves but when he entered they all went silent. "Listen, I don't want to be in this position any more than you want me in it, but you all saw what happened to your friend earlier, I for one would like to return to my family alive, so that means complying with this tyrant's ridiculous demands. So for the next two weeks let's just do our jobs and stay out of each other's way, alright?" Without waiting for an answer he turn and walk from the room.

Closing the door to his new quarters behind him, he took a deep breath, took out his phone, and dialed Liah's number, she answered immediately. "Are you okay?" She asks anxiously. "That would be a negative." "Why? What did that creep do to you?"

"He put me in charge of his gang while he's out of town." "Wait, what?"

"My words exactly." he snorts.

"I don't understand."

"That makes two of us."

"What exactly did he say to you?" "His words and I quote, I've business in Kingston that will take two weeks, I'm leaving you in charge until I come back."

"And you just agree?" "No," "Oh, he threatened you didn't he?" "That he did," "Did he use me again?" "No, this time his weapon of choice was the young girl who was in my room that night. He said he knew that I wasn't intimate with her and if I didn't comply with his orders he would send back for her and have his men violate her in front of everyone."

"Ugh, disgusting, I really despise that man." She swears. "That makes two of us." "But what are you supposed to do now? What do you know about leading a gang?" "I'm not sure and absolutely nothing." He replied. At that point there was a knock on his door, he walked over and opened it.

"Sorry to disturb you Boss, but I need your signature on this." The man holds out a sheet of paper to him. "And what pray tell am I supposed to write on this paper?" "Your name, Boss." "Which is?" "Michael....Oh, shit you don't have a last name."

"Cullen, sign Michael Cullen," Blade says approaching them. "Very well." Michael nods signing the name. "Thanks Boss," The man nods hurrying away. "Why Cullen?" Michael ask. "Well you're wearing his clothes, so why not also use his name, it's not like he needs them anymore."

"I see," Michael snorts. "So, are you settling in alright? Is there anything I can get you?" Blade asks. "How about my real identity." Michael snaps walking away from him.

"Wait, did that man really just call you boss?" Liah who was still on the line asks. "Yes." "This is crazy," "You can say that again."

***

"Is it true?" Liah's mother asks when she enters the house three days later. "Is what true?" Liah dropped her bag on a chair and went to wash her hands. "I've been hearing hush-hush whispers that Michael is now the leader or Razor's gang." Her mother whispers. "Yes, unfortunately, that is true but as usual he was forced by Razor to accept that role."

"Forced, how?"

"Razor threatened to do heinous things to innocent young girls if he didn't do as he was told." "But this? I mean, why make this man the leader of a gang he spends so much time molding? And are those men really on board with Michael being their leader?" Her mother asks.

"No one knows why Razor does the things he does, only time will tell, as for the men, I don't think they had much of a choice." "I know we had invited him to Christmas dinner but now..." "We should still have him over for dinner because as usual, none of this is his fault."

"But what would people think if they knew that I invited a gang leader to dinner?" "They can say whatever they want, we know the real Moses and why he's doing any of this. We know the truth." "And what is that exactly?" Her mother asks.

"That he's doing this to protect innocent people." "Are you sure about that Liah?" "Yes, Mama, I'm sure." "Okay then, I hope you're right."

"Hey Blade, we have a situation in the square." One of the gang members announces entering the room. "What type of situation?" "A hostile one, should I get the Boss? He's good at this type of shit." "No, we just got paid for a shipment, so he's gonna need time to sort through all that. we'll handle this ourselves, let's go." Blade growls as he checks his weapons.

Three hours later Blade entered Razor's office where Michael was still reading a document. "Need any help?" Blade asks. "Nope, I heard there was a situation in the square," Michael states lifting his dark eyes to Blade's.

"Yeah, don't worry, we handled it." "How?" "Well, we took a page out of your book. We shoot them in the leg, then call our police friends and hand the assholes over to them. We then told the police that these assholes keep coming over here and starting shit, which in turn has turned up the heat of the police force on them, meaning, they are now the center of attention instead of us, leaving us with enough room to do our business." Blade chuckles.

"Smart move." "Thanks to you." "Anyway, I've been in this headache of a leadership role for almost a week now, and my girl keeps begging me to find some time to spend with her, so I need to go see her." Michael pushes back the chair and rise to his feet.

"Whoa, hang on a sec, you're the Boss now, you can't just go strolling around out there, a lot of people are lurking around out there waiting to kill you." "I can take care of myself." "I know, but what about your girl? If the other side find out that she is indeed your girl, then she will also be a target." Blade sigh heavily.

"Alright, just give me until tomorrow to set something up so you can see your girl, safely, can you do that?" Michael met his gaze for a few seconds, he then nods, sat back down and once again turn his attention back to the document.

"Another thing, some of the men were wondering if it was possible for you to teach them some of your moves, you know, so we could defend ourselves better?' Blade asks. "Anyone that wishes to learn may join me in the yard tomorrow morning at 5am." "Okay. I'll pass along the word." Blade hurries towards the door but then halt when Michael calls his name. "Hmm?" Blade asks without moving.

"Are you okay?" Michael asks "Yeah, I'm good, I'll just go take care of that little thing for you." With that Blade hurries from the office.

On his way down the passage he bumped into Evan. "Hey man, what's going on? Where are you off to in such a hurry?' Evan asks. I had agreed with Razor when he said he would put that dude in charge, but now, now I'm not so sure."

"Why, what happened?" "Nothing big, it's just a feeling I get whenever I'm around that dude, I mean Razor was cold and heartless but that dude, nah man, that dude is next level scary dawg." Blade shakes his head and scratch the back of his neck.

"I get what you mean, I feel it too but on a serious note. Razor was smart putting that dude in charge. I mean look at it this way." Evan indicate to Blade to follow him down the passage.

"Now what if the boss had left one of those hot head in charge? They would no doubt try to assert their power by forcing him to do something he wasn't comfortable with and we all saw how difficult a time the boss had getting him to follow orders." Evan snort then continue.

"Now imagine how that would play out between him and these men." "Shit," Blade swears. "Exactly, that wouldn't end well for any of us. He attack one and all of us would jump in, next thing you know, he would wipe us all out, so the only way to keep us all alive until he gets back was to put that dude in charge."

"Make sense, but still, this dude is as scary as the devil himself." "Relax, he might be scary but he's not as heartless as Razor, so as long as you don't piss him off, you've nothing to worry about." Evan laughs.
