Chapter 41: The Pain of a Loser_1

Lydia White finally let out a long overdue smile after being worried for so long. Since Basil Jaak promised to solve all her problems, she suddenly felt relieved. Without any extra reasons, perhaps this was trust? And if a woman began to trust a man, was love not far off?

Lydia was about to drive back when her cell phone in her pocket suddenly rang.

"A good friend of mine invited me for dinner." Lydia hung up the phone and told Basil.

Basil shrugged, unconcerned, and said, "Well, go, Everett and I will go back."

Lydia hesitated for a moment, then nodded and said, "Alright, I'll leave Everett to you."

"Don't worry, sis! With me taking care of your husband, I guarantee nothing will happen." Everett made a face at Lydia, and when she glared at him, he couldn't help but laugh and say, "Sis, hurry up and go, if you're late, you might get your ass whooped by Nana."
