Chapter 194: An Impulsive Moment_1

Basil Jaak extended his hand to help Xenia Wendleton up from the ground, intending to dust her off, but she shivered noticeably and subtly dodged his help.

"I'll handle it myself!" Xenia said in a low voice, her ears blushing fiercely.

Watching the car speeding off, Basil curiously asked, "Who was that earlier, acting so brazenly?"

Thinking back to the terrifying scene, Xenia felt lingering fear. If Basil hadn't scooped her up at the last moment, she might have been seriously hurt.

"A crazy fan, are you okay?" Xenia seemed not eager to talk about that incident, quickly changing the subject.

Basil laughed, "If my goddess is okay, then of course I'm fine."

Hearing Basil's teasing words, the blush that had just faded from Xenia's cheeks surged back.

"Thank you for before. I'll treat you to a meal," Xenia chose her words, then looked up at Basil.

Before Basil could boast, Howard walked over and said to Xenia, "My dear anchorwoman, we already ate."
