Basil Jaak left Night Fragrance Bar and on his way, he stopped by Byron's Longevity Noodles House. Just as he reached the entrance, he overheard Byron berating Zara Woods, which instantly struck him as odd.


Byron was usually so good-natured he couldn't possibly be better, and considering the affection he had for Zara, he shouldn't be scolding her like this. There must be more to the story, Basil thought, and walked straight in.


Unfortunately, just as Basil reached the doorstep, Zara burst out from inside and fell right into Basil's arms.


"Ouch!" Zara cried out in pain, lifted her head to see who was above her, and upon seeing it was Basil, a flash of joy crossed her face, followed by an awkward smile. She quickly stood up from Basil's embrace and stepped aside.
