As the conversations quieted down, Eri stood close to Izuku, her eyes fixated on the young girl who had spoken earlier.
The girl's frail body, weakened by the experiments, seemed to tug at Eri's heart. She gently tugged on Izuku's sleeve, looking up at him with a sad expression.
"Can I help her?" Eri whispered, her voice barely audible. "With my quirk? I want to… but I'm scared…"
Izuku knelt down to her level, his hands resting gently on her shoulders. "What are you scared of, Eri?"
She bit her lip, her small hands shaking as she glanced at the young girl. "What if… what if I rewind too far? What if I… make her disappear, like I did with Papa and Mama?"
Izuku's eyes softened, and he smiled gently. "Eri, we've been training hard, haven't we? You've gotten so much better at controlling your quirk. You don't need to be afraid. I'm right here, and I'll be with you every step of the way."
Eri hesitated, her wide red eyes filled with worry, but she nodded slowly. "Okay… I'll try."
The young mother, still holding her daughter, overheard their conversation. She looked at Eri with tears in her eyes, her voice trembling with hope. "You… you can help her?"
Eri nodded shyly, stepping closer to the bed. The little girl looked up at her with wide, curious eyes. Izuku stood behind Eri, giving her a reassuring nod. "Take it slow, Eri. You've got this."
Taking a deep breath, Eri gently placed her hand on the girl's arm. Her horn began to glow softly, and the room seemed to hold its breath.
Slowly, the bruises and cuts on the girl's body began to fade, her strength returning as Eri rewound her injuries.
The young mother watched in awe, tears streaming down her face. When it was over, her daughter sat up, looking around as if waking from a long sleep. The mother clutched her child to her chest, sobbing with relief and joy.
"Thank you… thank you so much!" the mother cried, holding Eri's small hand in hers. "You've given me back my baby… I can never thank you enough. Bless you, bless all of you."
Eri smiled shyly, stepping back toward Izuku, her cheeks a little red. She felt a warmth in her chest, knowing she had made a difference.
Seeing this miracle, some of the others in the room began to murmur. One of the older survivors stepped forward, his voice filled with hope.
"Can you… can you help me too? I used to be strong, before all of this. Could you rewind me back to how I was?"
Others echoed the request, their eyes filled with desperation and longing to return to their prime, to have their bodies restored.
Izuku raised a hand gently, stopping the growing chorus of requests. "I know everyone wants to be healed, but Eri is just a little girl. She's only six years old, and she's already gone through so much herself."
The room fell silent as Izuku's voice took on a firm but caring tone. "Eri won't be healing everyone all at once. It's too much to ask of her, and I won't let anyone push her beyond her limits. She's just a child, and if we push her too hard, it could have serious consequences.
I'd rather have her heal no one then to put a pressure on her to overuse her power. You have suffered a lot, and if you want to be selfish enough to put a small girl through a burden so that you can get healed, then you are better off dead than alive.
I know you've all been through a lot, and I understand you're in pain, but pushing Eri too far is dangerous.
She's already had to deal with the tragic consequences of her power—where she accidentally rewound her own parents out of existence followed by a series of experiments on her.
Don't try to bite off more than you can chew. I'm your benefactor, but don't force me to become your doom.
You may have been through hell, but her suffering is far worse, and I'll always choose her over you. So it would be better if you stay patient."
The survivors exchanged glances, the gravity of Izuku's words sinking in. They understood the risk and the weight of their request and also the selfishness they showed was inhumane, especially towards a 6 year old girl.
Momo stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on Izuku's shoulder. "He's right. Eri will help everyone but it will be one per day, not more than that.
Forcing her to do more than she can handle isn't fair to her, and it won't help anyone in the long run."
Izuku nodded, his expression resolute. "Exactly. Eri will help as much as she can, but you will need to respect her limits and not let desperation lead you to make reckless demands, because one person's recklessness will simply result in Eri not helping any one after that.
I won't let Eri have another trauma, while the person who pushed Eri will be the source of everyone else's anger because they won't be getting healed through her quirk."
Izuku knelt down beside Eri again, speaking softly. "You did amazing, Eri. We'll take it one step at a time, okay?
Each day, you can help one person. We'll start with the kids and the people who are the most injured. But remember, you only do it if you feel ready."
Eri nodded, feeling a little more confident now. "I understand. I'll do my best."
He smiled, ruffling her hair gently. "I know you will."
Izuku then addressed the room, his voice steady. "Eri will help one person each day, starting with the kids and the most severely hurt. But I want to make one thing clear: her quirk can't heal emotional or mental scars.
That's something you'll need professional help for. We'll bring in therapists, people who can help with that kind of pain."
The survivors nodded, understanding the limits of Eri's power, as well as the limits of their rights in this situation.
One of the older men sighed, though he seemed reluctant, and said, "We get it. She's just a kid. We won't push her."
Another woman, still clutching her bandaged arm, added softly, "We're grateful for anything she can do. We promise we don't want to overwhelm her."
Izuku gave them a grateful nod. "Thank you for understanding. We'll make sure everyone gets the help they need, in time."
The atmosphere in the room softened as everyone realized the enormous burden Eri had already carried.
Though they wished for more, they also understood the importance of letting her grow at her own pace.
As they began to settle down, Izuku stood up, holding Eri close. "Let's take it one day at a time, okay?" he whispered to her.
Eri smiled, feeling safe with Izuku by her side. "Okay."
As Izuku and the girls went back to their house.
Following which everyone had a nice bath, washing away all the germs and toxic things that were in that atmosphere.
"Make sure Eri wears a mask from the next time she comes there, let's not risk her catching some disease." Said Izuku, to which all the girls nodded.
All the girls then had a relaxing long bath session, while Izuku had already had a bath, and was now preparing and compiling the data he had gathered from all the people there.
Following which, Izuku decided it was time to interrogate the people who had attacked the girls in his absence as he looked at the girls who were already asleep.
Making sure they were sound asleep, Izuku softly closed the doors behind him as he decided to go to the secret room.
However Fuyumi was awake, as she followed behind Izuku without making sounds to see where Izuku was going.
