Chapter 9: Young Master (8)

Amy stared in shock as Elijah suddenly awakened the moment she brought food to the field. Tons of food disappeared in a matter of minutes, a shocking sight as he continued without pause. Soon, he started choking, but he quickly drank water and resumed his onslaught.

Sighing, Miss Amy remarked, "Your hunger knows no bounds." Seeing him nearing the end, she inquired, "How does it feel?"

Elijah kept eating before finishing, "OOOOOOO yey... I'm now powered up!" he exclaimed, standing up. Miss Amy chuckled from the side as he replied, "I feel amazing, my Chi is circulating around my body much easier, and I feel much stronger than before."

"MMMMM... it seems you've broken through to (F-) rank in the process," she commented. "So, are you ready?"

"For what?" he questioned.

"For your training, of course."

Elijah smiled and said, "I'm ready."

"Okay then, let's see how well you can control your Chi now," she said, adding, "There are going to be three stages, so let's start."

"The first stage is to stop the leakage of energy," Elijah was confused, which Amy explained.

"This happens without the individual's awareness, typically resulting in mana slowly leaking away from the body constantly without exceedingly harmful consequences, and stemming up and off the top of the head. This may lead to excessive use of mana than wanted, so by stopping the leaking of mana, you can save 50% of mana you would have used."

"Does that work for Chi as well?" he wondered, hearing the explanation.

"It does because your Chi is also leaking out of your body," she pointed out, her eyes turning red. "Now then," a burst of mana came from her as the space around twisted before a barrier surrounded it, and the whole surroundings became white.

Elijah was shocked to find himself surrounded in a white space. "What is this?" he tried to move, finding it difficult.

"I made sure that the space around you will stop you from moving as long as your Chi is leaking out," she chuckled. 'I didn't think it would work; it seems like Chi and mana aren't that different after all,' she wondered, with Elijah struggling to move.

"Listen up, you will need to focus and have a large amount of control over your Chi to stop the leaking. If you can't finish your training, you won't eat anything." Elijah was stunned but soon closed his eyes, focusing. Miss Amy laughed and started walking back to the manor.

Elijah was in that white space, unable to move for hours. It felt like he was enclosed in a place that he couldn't leave. He opened his eyes, 'I am hungry,' he said to himself but continued.

Six hours had passed, and he was still in the white space, but suddenly, he started moving a little. Because the white space around him was 100 meters wide, each step he took needed tremendous focus. After some failed attempts, Elijah was able to succeed.

Leaving the white space, it suddenly disappeared. "I did it!" he shouted, feeling his whole body fatigued.

Breathing heavily, he felt someone near him as he looked up. Miss Amy smiled and said, "The first training is over, now let's continue."

"Can I at least eat?" he asked, feeling greatly tired.

"After we're done." After those words, the whole plain field was covered in that barrier before a white space formed. "Now, you will fight me for the next three days without stopping. You should focus and not lose control of your Chi, or you may die."

"What?!" Elijah stood up, confused.

"And also, you will be training on level 1."

"Level 1?" he asked, confusedly.

"Training suit level 1," she shouted, and suddenly Elijah felt like his whole body was carrying a mountain. He kneeled, feeling his internal organs being crushed, coughing out blood in the process. He stopped moving after losing his focus and tried to calm himself down, but the pain and weight were too much.

"This will strengthen your external and internal organs, touching every part of your body. I am attacking you without moving from the post I am at, and your mission is to touch me. You shouldn't lose focus, or you will die, young master," she said, becoming serious.

Elijah focused and stood up, saying, "I'm ready."

"Good." Light swords started forming. 'I'm sorry, young master, but I have to threaten your life for you to become stronger. Many are already above you, so please don't give up,' she thought, seeing the heavily breathing figure of Elijah.

The light sword moved in a blink of an eye and reached his location. Elijah barely dodged every attack, some of them being too close for comfort. Suddenly, he lost his focus, and the light sword hit his leg, but didn't penetrate deeply because he reacted in time before it hit.

Destroying the light, he said, "What are you waiting for, Miss Amy?"
