Taking Care

Luca double-checked to see if the black SUV he brought with him was locked as he walked by. The way people were already eyeing it, he felt glad that he hadn't taken one of the more flashy options available.

When he sat in the driver's seat earlier that day, he realized how much he enjoyed driving. Just like tying his tie, it felt like second nature to have the leather of his steering wheel in his grasp.

Only a block away from Sophia's bakery was a convenience store that he would have to go into to get her a hangover cure and something to drink. As he approached, he wore a dark expression, telling any other men leaning against the walls or sitting on the patio furniture outside the various businesses that he was not interested. Even if they made eye contact, nothing further transpired.
