Always There

There wasn't much to say after Luca explained to Sophia that his father might try to kill him again.

His reasoning for avoiding their bond was completely valid.

In her studies, she had read how awful it could be for half of a bonded pair to die. The surviving one would experience unbelievable pain. If they survived that period of time, their pheromones would likely be weakened.

Since omegas and alphas generally had longer lifespans than the average beta, they usually died from old age and mated pairs passed away within months of one another.

As terrifying as his admittance was, Sophia still couldn't think of someone she would rather make that sacrifice for. Even if something horrible happened, it would never change the fact that he was hers and she was his.
