Rise Prongs is good at running. His life changes when he gets the letter to attend a national running training. What awaits him is more than racing- a dystopian whirlwind of events haunts him like death. His new friends Jackson, Nix, Lily, and Han must compete in the Deathathon with Rise in a journey of friendship on the tumultuous track of life.

Track to Deathathon

It is noon sunshine that peeks through the room's blinds. The boys are just starting to stir from their long sleep, like characters enchanted in slumber, when they hear a loud knock at their door. 


“I’ll get it!” says Rise, standing on his feet. 


He throws a shirt on and rushes to the door, for the knocks have intensified. 


Once he opens the door, his trainer, Yuki, along with two hotel men carefully carrying bags, rushes in. 


“Oh, had a long sleep,” says Yuki, more so as a statement. 


Jackson and Han have gotten up from bed. 


“There will be a banquet before we head to the airport, a customary…ordeal,” says Yuki. 


She hands the boys the labeled bags for each of them and gives them the time to meet for the event. 


Yuki leaves the room and the hotel men follow. 


“We will come back to get you,” says one of the hotel men, locking the door from the outside. 


Jackson tries to open the door, but it is closed.
