Little Fatty nodded, confirming to Chu Xiaotian.
"I just heard a robust and vigorous roar from the beasts inside. Are you sure they're not demonic beasts but just wild animals?"
Chu Xiaotian raised another question.
"Yes, they're all wild beasts inside, none of them have reached the Spirit Origin Realm to become true demonic beasts," Little Fatty stated confidently.
Chu Xiaotian, who had never encountered demonic beasts, was somewhat relieved by this clarification. Now at the Eighth Realm of Martial Arts, he believed he could easily handle wild animals.
"I'm going in."
Chu Xiaotian informed Little Fatty and then entered the forest.
"Alright."
Little Fatty nodded in agreement and discreetly followed Chu Xiaotian, ready to assist if necessary, but careful not to let Chu Xiaotian know he was there.
"Uh?"
Soon after entering the forest, Chu Xiaotian heard a beast's roar and followed the sound, only to witness an astonishing scene. He saw a three-meter-long tiger and a leopard of the same size engaged in a fierce battle, evenly matched and incredibly powerful. To Chu Xiaotian's surprise, the leopard even seemed to have the upper hand.
"Boom... Boom..."
Witnessing the formidable power of the two beasts, which created several-meter-long cracks in the ground, Chu Xiaotian was both shocked and awed. Their strength seemed no less than that of a human at the Ninth Realm of Martial Arts, perhaps even stronger.
"No wonder Little Fatty said the beasts here are ferocious," Chu Xiaotian thought to himself. But to complete his task, he had no choice but to proceed.
"Let's find another target."
Seeing the intense tiger-leopard fight, Chu Xiaotian decided to look for other beasts, as the system didn't specify which kind to kill.
"Found them."
Soon, Chu Xiaotian found a group of wild beasts – a pack of about ten wolves. The smallest wolf was a meter long, while the largest was two meters. The wolves had powerful limbs, cold eyes, and black fur as hard as steel, seemingly impervious to ordinary weapons.
"You're not going to attack them, are you?" Little Fatty asked worriedly from his hiding spot.
"Attack."
Chu Xiaotian decided to engage the wolves.
"Awooo..."
The wolves immediately noticed Chu Xiaotian and howled menacingly, ready to attack.
Chu Xiaotian knew the key was to target the alpha wolf. He focused on the two-meter-tall wolf with a scar beside its eye and burst forth with speed.
"Tap tap..."
As Chu Xiaotian attacked, the wolves circled to protect their leader, rushing towards him with a speed comparable to the Breeze Step technique at its mastered level.
"Whirl!"
The wolves reached Chu Xiaotian, their sharp claws aimed at him.
"Crack crack..."
The air seemed to explode under their ferocious attack. Chu Xiaotian realized how dangerous these wild beasts were.
"Breeze Step!"
He narrowly dodged the wolves' assault using the Breeze Step technique.
"Close call!"
Chu Xiaotian gasped for air, his gaze fixed on the formidable pack. Their speed and strength were comparable to a human at the Sixth Realm of Martial Arts.
"Awooo..."
The alpha wolf howled in anger at Chu Xiaotian's evasion, signaling an intensified attack. Soon, more than ten wolves were charging at him.
Chu Xiaotian faced the pack, using his maximum speed with the Breeze Step to evade and counterattacking with his sword. His strike, enhanced with Sword Intent, landed on a wolf, sending it flying.
"Whine..."
The struck wolf, severely wounded, bled profusely and soon died.
The death of their comrade infuriated the alpha wolf and the pack.
"Awooo—"
The alpha wolf's furious howl seemed to shake the earth. Chu Xiaotian suddenly found himself surrounded by an even larger pack of wolves, completely trapped.
As more beasts joined, the pressure mounted on Chu Xiaotian. He had thought only ten wolves were present, but now faced an overwhelming number.
"If only I had broken through to the Spirit Origin Realm," he sighed, feeling both frustrated and overwhelmed by the situation.
