Responsibility To The Crown

Although the lights were turned off, the open balcony doors allowed moonlight stream in, illuminating the area.

They were standing in the outer chamber of his room, which was much larger than hers and had a rather peculiar setup.

There was an overturned sofa pushed against one wall and what appeared to be an ink stain on another wall from a thrown ink pot, if the glass shards beneath were anything to go by.

Most strange of all was the long table somewhat blocking the doors to the balcony, which had a little gas burner on it linked to a small gas canister underneath the table.

Surrounding the table were a few used mugs, a kettle, pot, and a largs tray filled with a clean mugs, spoons, and various odd items that pointed to coffee brewing and the occasional cooking.

"Forgive the mess, I have not been myself of late."
