Sitting in the back of her car, her driver up front, skilfully navigating the city roads, evading traffic and people alike. The consigliere of one Gio Romano looked out the window and into the world outside.

She had been gone too long, much too long. Perhaps if she had been there all along while things were slowly heating up, she would not have noticed. But Maria had been in a foreign country for months, and in her mind's eyes, despite knowing everything that was going on, things had remained the same.
