"He left?"
"Why wouldn't he? Aiwass, don't you think your comment was a bit unnecessary?" Li Mo shook his wrist as he responded to Aiwass.
A battle had broken out between him and Accelerator.
Originally, this battle wasn't part of the plan. In fact, at the start of the fight, Li Mo even thought it would turn into a battle of attrition.
But, interestingly… the fight was surprisingly easy?
"It was indeed a bit unnecessary. Your fight with Accelerator was quite fascinating. That power of yours—what is it? It allowed you to completely ignore Accelerator's reflection. It feels like the power of a demon, yet also like the power of a god. No… it seems to contain a facet of the very origin of life itself?" Aiwass spoke.
It had witnessed the entire battle, which is why it made such a remark.
Li Mo shook his head. "Just think of it as a special ability."
Li Mo had to admit that Aiwass's keen insight was impressive. He had used the **Beast's Authority**, a power with a special attribute that bypassed Accelerator's reflection. Accelerator's ability couldn't analyze this power, and he was injured before he chose to retreat.
Some things can't be resolved through battle.
Li Mo was also surprised that Accelerator couldn't analyze the **Beast's Authority**, but upon reflection, it made sense. This power was governed by laws entirely alien to this world, even more so than magic.
Accelerator could completely reflect esper abilities but could only deflect magic. Against the **Beast's Authority**, which operated under completely foreign laws, he had no means of analysis.
In short, special attacks trumped all.
"What a terrifying ability. I don't even know whether to define this power as 'Isis' or 'Horus.'"
"It's nothing special. Look, I'm still injured, aren't I? Accelerator's black wings are quite something. They managed to cut through my arm in an instant."
The battle wasn't one-sided. While Li Mo's **Beast's Authority** could bypass Accelerator's reflection, the latter's handgun wasn't much of a threat. However, when the black wings unfurled, they managed to injure Li Mo.
After witnessing Accelerator's black wings firsthand, Li Mo confirmed that they were a manifestation of the **Osiris Era**, the era of Christianity.
This situation was quite微妙 (subtly intriguing).
As the #1 esper of Academy City, Accelerator's body harbored power rooted in Christianity.
"Don't look at me like that. Accelerator was the right candidate found after fifty years of Academy City's establishment. It's not surprising that he has unique traits."
"Ah—? I always thought Academy City was created for Kamijou Touma," Li Mo said. "I've seen his right hand. It's hard not to think of the Golden Dawn from a century ago. Of course, that's secondary. What's more important is what's inside his body? That thing terrifies me."
"Who knows? Accelerator is heading to Russia now. Why did you give him that direction?"
"Because I saw it," Li Mo replied. "The Roman Catholic Church, the Right Seat of God's **Fiamma of the Right**, is nearing the end of his plan. The entire world is falling into turmoil. Of course, more importantly, some things can only be completed with the **Index Librorum Prohibitorum**."
"Li Mo, just who are you?" Aiwass asked. "You seem to know everything. Like an observer. The Golden Dawn has long been buried in the dust of history, yet you know about it. You also seem to know many of Academy City's secrets over the decades. Some things are beyond ordinary people's reach."
Li Mo asked, "Are you asking on behalf of Aleister?"
"No, this is my personal opinion. Li Mo, you're far too interesting."
"Let's talk about Accelerator instead. My matters will be resolved once I leave."
"Is that so? Fine. Accelerator—you've already described his nature, haven't you? The **Dark Hero**. It's quite fitting."
"And let's add a 'stubborn child' to that. Having fallen into darkness due to his mistakes, he yearns for the light even more. But he's too proud to admit it verbally."
A brat.
That's how Li Mo saw Accelerator.
If he had to add a prefix, it would be a brat with immense power. When they first clashed, Li Mo had planned to wear down Accelerator's electrode battery through a battle of attrition.
However, the **Beast's Authority** bypassed his defenses, and Li Mo later cut off the electromagnetic waves.
Accelerator was completely outmatched. It made sense—his methods were too one-dimensional. Even Kihara Amata, an ordinary human, had defeated Accelerator. Li Mo, who understood the principles behind the **Kihara Counter**, could easily replicate it with his mastery over his body.
Suddenly, Li Mo lost interest in discussing Accelerator with Aiwass.
"Then let's talk about you. Li Mo, which era do you think your power belongs to?"
"What's Aiwass's opinion?"
"To make an analogy, you've likely blended the powers of the **Isis Era** and the **Osiris Era** to create something akin to the **Horus Era**."
Li Mo was surprised. "So you think I possess the power of the **Horus Era**?"
Having read *The Book of the Law*, Li Mo knew what the three eras represented. The **Isis Era** referred to the time before the establishment of Christianity, the age of primitive religions. The **Osiris Era** represented the present, the age of Christianity. The **Horus Era** symbolized the awakening of humanity through the destruction of Christianity.
"You resemble Satan. A symbol of evil. Walking this path would allow you to represent humanity's original sin. Admittedly, this path is fascinating. Even the **Magic Gods** would struggle to erase your existence. But I suggest you reconsider. In the Christian system, good and evil are two sides of the same coin. Within this system, people view their hardships as trials.
This mindset isn't limited to Christianity. I recall that in a neighboring country, there's a concept called 'divine retribution.' It suggests that all disasters are punishments from heaven.
You could shift your perspective."
Li Mo carefully considered Aiwass's words and said, "Thank you."
"No need for thanks. You've merely piqued my interest. By the way, that dark side child you met seems to be in a bad situation now."
"Alright, I'll take my leave then."
Li Mo tossed the grimoire in his hand and carried the girl he had hypnotized earlier, Tōkichirō, out of the room. She had been used as a sacrificial material by her superior, Ticpatl, who had extracted her bones for a spell. Li Mo had casually killed the leader and left the girl behind.
Outside, he saw the other members of **Group** still unconscious, a result of Aiwass's presence. Among them was an elderly woman, one of the city's Board members, Oyafune Monaka.
But beneath that face was the identity of a young man—an Aztec magician. Li Mo tossed the grimoire and the girl onto him, patted his hands, and walked out of the room, pulling out his phone.
Then, he dialed Frenda's number.
...
...
"Aleister, must we always communicate through such roundabout means? While technology is convenient, shouldn't there be a more straightforward method for beings like us?"
"How is he?"
"You're as cold as ever. If it weren't for you, I might have engaged in a deeper conversation with Li Mo."
"Aiwass."
"I know, I know. Li Mo… if I'm not mistaken, that power of his shouldn't exist in this world." After a pause, Aiwass continued, "It's something even more alien than magic, which is already an 'alien law.'"
The other end of the communication fell silent.
