Press Conference Day Part I

“Thank you…You too. Congratulations on reaching the semifinals.”

Joke said as he sat down on the couch inside his hotel. His hand moved to loosen his tie. He was tired beyond words right now, but on the upside, he had someone’s sweet voice to help brush away his fatigue.

“Are you sure? Don’t forget that America is going to face Thailand in the next round?”

Lia’s response came through the speaker of the phone next to his ear, prompting Joke to break into a faint smile.

“I have no control over that. I’m only congratulating my girlfriend…Whatever happens, happens. But I’ll be cheering on Ms. Rin’s side. I happen to have a soft spot for underdogs.”

“You’re doing that to me?!”

The protest that he received instantly painted the picture of her adorable pouting face in his mind.

And Joke knew that she wasn’t being serious.

“But I’m entirely on your side in the next match against Jack.”

“I think we’ll have to talk if you choose him over me.”
