A Home That’s No Longer the Same Part I

“Finally! It’s over!”

The entire ordeal concluded as the sky brightened once again, returning to its serene blue. The summoners, exhausted to their cores, collapsed in unison onto the edges of the battered island.

“I’m taking a vacation tomorrow, no questions asked,” Dani declared, sprawling on the ground, completely drained.

“Count me in,” Wolf added.

“Same here. If I don’t get to do something different soon, I might just lose my mind,” Kaew chimed in, her voice barely audible—a rare sight of vulnerability from someone as steadfast as her.

Rin, watching her older companions sprawled on the ground in exhaustion, couldn’t help but laugh softly.

“If everyone takes a vacation like this, the office will feel abandoned,” she teased, crouching beside Dani. “Besides, do you really think you’ll get to rest? We just killed a boss! Do you know how many items and cards it dropped? If the number-one hunter doesn’t take the lead, who will?”
