Chapter 39: Cyrano

Scarlett's POV

That I was able to see and talk to a ghost was insane, but it was also fantastic. Once I got over my shock, I realized that it wasn't much different from talking to, well, a living person. And I felt terrible for Charlotte that she had wound up committed for essentially doing what I was doing now. She just didn't know at the time that other people couldn't see him. The same thing could have happened to me.

"Scarlett, I need to talk to you," Stephen said, appearing in front of me by the refrigerator, "I need your advice about something." That was one thing that took some getting used to. The way he tended to appear out of nowhere. I'd asked him once how he did it, but he seemed not to understand the question. I guess once you've been doing something for over a hundred years, it's hard to really break down the process of how you do it.
