Chapter 6: Su Mei in Danger

"Ha-ha, Mei'er, that's a poor joke. Is this your employee? Even for a cosmetics company, the taste of its employees seems lacking. Just look at his clothes, washed out and faded!" Lin Feng stepped out of his car, his eyes flashing coldly at the sight of Su Mei embracing Ye Tian's arm, laughing awkwardly.

"Who's joking?" Su Mei said, feigning tenderness towards Ye Tian, "Darling... he thinks we're joking. Please show him."

Suddenly acting coy, Su Mei's dramatic change in demeanor sent a shiver down Ye Tian's spine, almost losing his soul in the process. Unwittingly, Ye Tian wrapped his arm around Su Mei's shoulder and kissed her.

So soft, so fragrant!

Their lips barely touched before parting, but Ye Tian's mind was buzzing, his blood boiling and rushing to his head.

Stiffening as Ye Tian embraced her, Su Mei instinctively wanted to push him away, but seeing Lin Feng's fiery eyes, she bit her lip and stopped.

Her plan was to show the marriage certificate, not expecting Ye Tian to take advantage of the situation. Furious at Ye Tian's audacity, Su Mei still managed a smile to Lin Feng, "You believe us now? Want to see our marriage certificate?"

Lin Feng clenched his fists, burning with jealousy, especially considering they had just come from the direction of the Civil Affairs Bureau. He angrily questioned Su Mei:

"Why? What does this loser have that I don't? Whether it's looks, education, or wealth, I am leagues above this nobody. Why would you choose him over me? Look at him; his monthly salary might not even cover the cost of one of your facial masks!"

Lin Feng was nearly mad with rage, having invested so much in Su Mei. He knew her background; the Meishi company was just one of her personal assets, while her family was a behemoth. He had planned to win her over to connect with the Su family, but now, a random poor guy had stepped in and married her.

This infuriated Lin Feng, his heart burning with envy and anger.

Unwilling to deal with either Lin Feng or Ye Tian, Su Mei, seeing the tension between them, said to Ye Tian:

"Husband, you're being underestimated! Have a good chat with him, show him you're not just anybody. I'll wait for you back at the office!"

With that, she pushed Ye Tian's hand off her shoulder, hailed a taxi, and got in.

"Congratulations, you've successfully spread dog food and earned 35 dog food points."

Hearing the system's notification, Ye Tian rejoiced, not caring about Lin Feng, and hurried to follow Su Mei.

"Stop right there!" Lin Feng grabbed Ye Tian, who was about to get into the taxi, demanding:

"Tell me the truth! Su Mei was just using you as a shield, wasn't she?"

"Right, I'm just a shield, and you're wasting your time with me." Ye Tian, eager to chase after Su Mei and having already earned his dog food points, blatantly sold out Su Mei's lie.

"Ha-ha!" Lin Feng laughed, saying, "I knew it! A woman like Su Mei would never fall for a loser like you. But you dared to touch her. You need to be taught a lesson. Break the hand you touched Su Mei with and apologize on your knees, and I'll let you off today."

"You're out of your mind!" Ye Tian rolled his eyes, ignoring the arrogant rich second-generation, and turned to leave.

Whoosh!

Just a few steps away, Ye Tian heard a swooshing sound behind him. Reacting instinctively with his special forces skills, he spun around and fiercely kicked the object hurtling towards him.

Crack!

A crisp sound of breaking bones followed, and Lin Feng fell to the ground, howling in pain.

Serves him right!

Ye Tian crouched down to confront Lin Feng, but the system's voice interrupted:

"Warning! Warning! Su Mei has been kidnapped by robbers and taken to a warehouse in the south of the city. Please hurry to rescue her. If Su Mei dies, all unused dog food points will be cleared."

Su Mei kidnapped?

Ye Tian's heart tightened. Although he sensed Su Mei's dislike for him, misunderstanding or not, he couldn't stand idly by while she was in danger.

"You dared to hit me, do you know who I am! You'll regret this!" Lin Feng, sweating profusely in pain, glared at Ye Tian with venomous hatred. "You, a worthless piece of trash, dared to hit me. You don't understand the gap between us. Wait till I break your limbs!"

Ye Tian, in a rush to save Su Mei and initially ignoring Lin Feng, now grew cold at his continuous insults and threats. He turned to face

 the standing Lin Feng.

"What are you going to do, I... I warn you, if you dare..."

Thump!

Before Lin Feng could finish, Ye Tian kicked him again.

With a thud, Lin Feng collapsed once more, clutching his stomach.

Ye Tian didn't linger, turning and running towards the abandoned warehouse in the south of the city. The warehouse wasn't far, but its secluded location made it hard to reach by taxi, so Ye Tian turned to the dog food system again.

"Lottery, system, hurry up, I want to draw!" Running, Ye Tian shouted in his mind, wishing he could fly there instantly.

Su Mei, now legally his wife, in the hands of kidnappers – he could only imagine her fate. He accelerated while starting the lottery, hoping for a way to get there quickly.

The giant wheel appeared before him. After several displays of affection, Ye Tian had amassed over eighty dog food points. He had planned to save up for a hundred-point mid-level draw, but the current situation demanded urgency. Besides, these points were earned thanks to Su Mei. If anything happened to her, they would all be cleared.
