Chapter 7: Frantic Lottery Drawing

"Congratulations, you have successfully drawn ten taels of gold! Shop price: 10."

Darn it! Ye Tian cursed inwardly, frustrated at seeing the appealing rewards on the wheel but drawing something relatively unhelpful at the moment.

Under normal circumstances, ten taels of gold would be a decent prize for the cash-strapped Ye Tian. After all, once an item is drawn, it can be purchased in the shop, and ten dog food points could buy ten taels of gold, equivalent to over ten thousand Daxia currency – not a small amount.

But right now, in his urgency to rescue someone, what use was gold to him?

Without a second thought, Ye Tian initiated another lottery draw.

"Congratulations, you have successfully drawn three magic rose seeds! Shop price: 10."

Magic Rose Seeds: From the urban fantasy world, these seeds rapidly grow into roses, perfect for impressing a date or showing off affection.

This has to be a joke!

Looking at the three tiny, black sesame-sized seeds in his hand, Ye Tian's face turned dark with anger and he quickly spun the lottery wheel again.

"Congratulations, you have successfully drawn Tai Chi! Shop price: 1000."

Tai Chi: An ancient martial art from the main plane, using the opponent's force against them, with endless applications.

Ancient martial arts!

Ye Tian was torn between laughter and tears. He had long yearned for such martial arts skills, a fantasy shared by many men. If he wasn't in such a rush, he might have yelled in excitement to vent his joy.

However, saving someone was urgent, so Ye Tian suppressed his happiness and prayed internally as he opened the lottery system again.

This time, the wheel seemed to respond to Ye Tian's urgency. Seeing the prizes, he breathed a sigh of relief.

1. Parkour Skills

2. Light Body Technique

3. Basic Internal Strength

4. Low-Level Stamina Potion

5. Special Forces Physical Conditioning

6. Basic Speed Potion

7. Blank

8. Low-Level Physical Conditioning Potion

9. Basic Agility Potion

10. Blank

With ten options, including two blanks, Ye Tian was quite satisfied. Most of these prizes would be extremely useful for him right now.

Parkour Skills and Light Body Technique were precisely what he needed, especially for their speed and energy conservation techniques.

The other options were also promising. Whether it was the Special Forces Physical Conditioning or the potions that could enhance his speed and stamina, they were like rain after a long drought for Ye Tian. Without hesitation, he began another draw.

"Congratulations, you have successfully drawn Parkour Skills! Shop price: 100."

Parkour Skills: The complete techniques from a parkour master of the main plane, allowing you to instantly master parkour techniques!

Success!

Information flowed into his brain, quickly assimilated. Ye Tian was overjoyed. Though he was a bit disappointed not to get the physical enhancement potions, his excitement was palpable. His footsteps lightened, and his speed increased significantly. His breathing, which had been erratic, now became rhythmic and efficient.

He leaped over the median barrier on the road with a single push and a few forward steps. He grabbed the back door of a small truck, clinging onto the vehicle.

Although many parkour techniques were flashy, in terms of speed and energy-saving in an urban environment, they were superior to the other options.

Under the astonished and admiring gazes of passersby, Ye Tian swiftly vaulted over obstacles, using vehicles to speed his way to the abandoned warehouse in the south of the city.

The warehouse area, once used for storing industrial materials, was now mostly abandoned due to environmental clean-up efforts. Located between several factory buildings, this particular warehouse had been neglected and left to decay.

As Ye Tian arrived, he noticed a taxi parked outside. Climbing a tree near a window, he leaped through it into the second floor of the warehouse.

...

"Miss, you'd better transfer the money to us obediently. We don't want to make things unpleasant for you," a slightly overweight middle-aged man said angrily to Su Mei in the abandoned warehouse.

As a rogue taxi driver with ambition and discipline, Dong Cheng was frustrated. Business had become increasingly difficult. He had been pulling this scam for years, taking strangers to a predetermined location and then forcing them to pay up under threat.

The amounts demanded were small, but they added up over time. Even if caught, someone could take the blame, and he'd be out in a month or two. But recent changes, especially mobile payments, had made life difficult for people like Dong Cheng. Most people didn't carry cash anymore, and the more stubborn ones would rather take a beating than pay up.

Today was another such case. The rich-looking woman he had picked up carried no cash. Dong Cheng felt he was already showing restraint by not taking advantage of her physically, given his companions' fiery glances. But she

insisted on paying only after being safely returned.

"I've already said that I'll pay you once you take me back. Until I'm safe, you won't get a penny," Su Mei said firmly, biting her lip.

It wasn't that she was stingy or unwilling to yield to crime. She feared that once she paid, the men would become more reckless. Their eager and menacing gazes forced Su Mei to be cautious.
