Chapter 247: Brilliant Hana

They treated Banner like he was the worst criminal on the planet with the level of security they had; they cuffed his limbs in large metal cuffs that were chained to his legs, preventing him from moving anywhere. You would think that was it, but now, they muffled his mouth and injected him with a paralyzing agent enough for ten men, which was the limit a human could handle without dying, but even so, they were pushing it.

Once all that was finished, they placed him in a large metal cage, similar to the one Shield placed me in, except that one was made of very strong glass. Then, they used a special forklift to place him in the back of a large military truck, and just when I expected them to drive off, the soldiers continued to the house, causing me to sigh as I had already heard their orders.

'Ross is one fucking petty bitch.' Thought Tut in annoyance as he rubbed his head and approached the door while Jennifer nervously gulped.

"Um, why are they coming here? Are they going to capture me as well?" Asked Jennifer in concern as she backed away from the window and glanced at Tut, who shook his head before stepping out of the house.

The instant I stepped out, I engulfed this house and the surroundings within my bio-electric aura, just in case this group was a bit hot-headed.

'Or hard-headed. The US military doesn't really take no as an answer.' Mused Tut in annoyance as he gazed at the five soldiers that surrounded and pointed their weapons at him.

"Blacksteel! By order of General Ross, you are under arrest for illegally entering and interfering with military affairs." Stated the leading soldier as he stepped forward and pointed at Tut, who rubbed his head in annoyance before folding his arms.

"And if I say no?" Asked Tut blandly as he eyed the soldiers while flexing his muscles, creating a gust of wind that made his cape aggressively flutter.

While a little amusing to watch the soldiers nervously gulp in fear, I wasn't going to mess with them, especially since they were just following the orders of a dumb ass higher-up, so after sighing, I just shook my head.

"You and I both know you're just wasting our time, so tell Ross you failed to arrest me, and he'll believe you." Stated Tut lightly as he looked at the leading soldier, who gulped before hesitantly nodding.

"R-Retreat!" Stated the soldier as he lowered his weapon while slowly backing away, prompting the four others to do the same.

Entering the house, I returned to my spot on the couch while Jennifer watched as the soldiers retreated, giving Banner an envoy of several trucks as they took him back to the nearest military base.

"Hmm, do the military have the power to arrest someone?" Asked Tut curiously as he glanced at Jennifer, who nodded.

"Yes, but it depends; they can't arrest civilians, only those in the military and those that been employed by the military… Which Bruce was." "Huh, didn't know that." Remarked Jennifer and Tut, respectively, as the former glanced at the latter before gazing out the window while he nodded.

After a few minutes, the military envoy was gone, causing Jennifer to sigh before plopping onto the couch beside me, prompting me to hand her a drink, which she took before downing it one gulp.

"What happened with Bruce?" Asked Jennifer with a firm gaze as she looked at Tut, who began to recount the events.

___

___

"T-That's a lot to take in. So Bruce can transform into this giant green monster?" Asked Jennifer in exhaustion as she looked at Tut, who nodded in agreement.

"And this is all because Ross didn't perform proper safety measures when testing a bomb?" Added Jennifer with narrowed eyes as she eyed Tut, who raised an eyebrow before nodding again.

"Yeah." "If that's so, then Bruce should be able to sue Ross and possibly be set free!" Remarked Tut and Jennifer, respectively, as the former nodded while the latter regained her composure.

"Um, well, that's your area of expertise. Don't ask me; I don't know." Said Tut lightly as he shrugged his shoulders and looked at Jennifer, who faintly smiled while standing up.

"I can work with this; I'll start working on the case right now." Said Jennifer firmly as she grabbed her laptop while Tut stood before slowly backing away.

Was I going to tell her that the likelihood of the court accepting her case was next to zero and that she was probably wasting her time? No, as it seemed a bit cruel to just have her helplessly watch as her cousin was taken away; then again, not like keeping the truth from her was any better.

'No way in hell the government will accept this case. They're so hungry for a weapon to deal with me, they'll use any chance.' Mused Tut lightly as he approached the door with a wry expression.

"Um, good luck with that, Mrs. Walters. I'll be available if you need any help, but I must get going." Said Tut lightly as he waved at Jennifer while exiting the house before closing the door.

She was too engrossed in her work to really care about me, so all I got was a faint wave. Standing outside her house, I looked around, gazing at all the previously evacuated people who were returning to their houses before flying off into the sky.

After doing my duty as Blacksteel for the day, I returned home to find Mom intently watching TV.

"Ah, Pharaoh! Quickly, come here!" Yelled Hana anxiously as she glanced at Tut, who entered through the sliding glass door, only to practically yank him to the couch.

"Geez, chill out, Mom, what is it?" Asked Tut curiously as he fell onto the couch while looking out the window, only to see the video of a ship covered in spiderwebs

"What happened?" "Green Goblin attacked a ship out at sea, and Spider-man managed to web it all together, preventing it from sinking." Remarked Tut and Hana, respectively, as the former glanced at the latter, who looked at the news before smacking him.

"Gwen was on that ship! If it weren't for SPIDER-MAN, she could've died!" Stated Hana with a frown as she glared intensely at Tut, who awkwardly chuckled while defensively raising his arms.

"Oh, she was? I didn't know." Said Tut lightly, only for Hana to suddenly grab his ear, aggressively pulling.

"OUCH! I-I'm lying! O-Of course, I knew! S-Stop!" Said Tut pleadingly as he held Hana's arm, causing her to scoff before releasing him.

"Then why didn't you help?" Asked Hana angrily as she eyed Tut, who rubbed his ear with a pitiful expression.

"Mom, New York isn't the only place where dangerous events happen; you know I saved a crew on a burning oil rig before coming here? It's not like I just decided not to help Gwen. However, with Spider-Man helping the people of New York, I can shift some of my focus to different parts of the world. Besides, I listened the entire time; if he couldn't have handled it, I would've instantly helped." Remarked Tut as he looked at Hana, who bit her lip before sighing with a nod.

"Haa, I apologize, I-I was overreacting; it's just that I was worried for her. I don't know this Spider-Man's capabilities, but I know yours, and I know everyone would've been safe with you present." Said Hana softly as she looked at Tut before lowering her head, causing him to smile wryly before shaking his head.

"It's okay, Mom. But I think the people of New York should start getting more accustomed to P-Spider-Man saving them rather than me. You included." Stated Tut with a faint smile as he gently rubbed Hana's shoulder while sitting beside her, causing her to nod before suddenly frowning.

"Me included? You're telling me you'd let a random man save me rather than saving your own mother?" Asked Hana with a deep frown as she eyed Tut, who sheepishly smiled.

"He's not a random man, Mom… I'd trust him with both of our lives." "Hmm, is that so?" Remarked Tut and Hana, respectively, as the former solemnly gazed at the latter, who raised an eyebrow.

"Spider-man is Peter… isn't he?" Asked Hana curiously as she looked at Tut, who suppressed his shock while raising his eyebrow.

"Don't give me that look; I noticed your slip-up. Besides, I saw the fight between him and Green Goblin, and his punches were awfully similar to yours and Gwen's." Stated Hana confidently as she looked at Tut, who chuckled before shaking his head.

"Okay, Mom, that's a crazy take, but no, he's not Pete." Said Tut in amusement as he lay on Hana's lap while closing his eyes, causing her to hum.

"You're not tricking me, Tut." Muttered Hana lightly as she looked at Tut, who sighed while shaking his head.

'Fuck me, I know Mom's brilliant, but good fucking lord!' Mused Tut nervously as he inwardly cursed himself while apologizing to Peter.
