Palace

We got to the palace ten minutes later. David came running to meet us. He actually threw himself at me. I caught him. "Hello, little brother," I said.

"Hi," he said. "Mommies in the throne room."

I nodded and started walking that way. I was surprised David was trying to get out of my arms yet. I adjusted my grip on him and opened the door then froze. A man was holding a knife to my mother's throat. "Loro," I gasped. Of course, this just had to be a trap. Why hadn't I thought of that possibility? Liam had done it, so why not Loro? I bit my lip and put David down. "Okay, you got me here," I said irritatedly. "So what do you want?"

Loro smirked. "You."

I winced. Yeah, should have seen that coming. "You won't have her," other Lloyd said.

Loro glared at him. "You don't get a say."

"Loro, I'm already pregnant," I said. Gaara and other Llooyd stared at me. They didn't know where I was going with this. "So you can't get me pregnant like you want to."

He shrugged. "We'll just make the kid think he's mine."

"It might be a girl."

"Then we'll still do the same thing."

I bit my lip. Okay, think, Y/n, I told myself. Then it came to me. Nightmare! I yelled mentally.

His reply came instantly. What is it? What's wrong?

Loro is here and he's holding a knife to my mother's throat. Can you go get the Ninja?

I don't want to leave you.

We need back up and you can't even get in here. I'll stall him until they arrive.

I could feel his indecision then he finally said, Alright, but if you die your husband will go back on a killing spree. Then he was gone.

I so did not need Nightmare's reminder of that time. "Loro, I don't love you," I said. "I'll never marry someone I don't love."

"You'll learn to love me," he said.

I almost gagged. That's definitely not going to happen. I breathed slowly. "I'll only ever love one person."

"Love can fade."

"Mine won't." I paused. "Besides, I can't marry again while already being married."

He rolled his eyes. "Don't worry. We'll get you a divorce."

I frowned. "How?" I shouldn't have asked but I was curious and I needed to keep stalling him."You could never get Lloyd to sign those papers," I added.

He grinned evilly. "I'm a good forger."

Of course, he is. I searched for something else to say. "And if I go with you, you won't kill the baby I'm already carrying?"

He shook his head. "No. It's easy to make a kid think that someone who isn't their father is their father."

Yeah, except I would tell the baby the truth, I thought. "I see." Oh, come on. Where were they? I ground my teeth together. Suddenly there was a big boom and a hole appeared in the roof. I scowled. You couldn't get them in without putting a hole in the roof? I asked Nightmare exasperatedly as all the Ninja landed in front of me.

What? Maybe I wanted to create a little destruction.

I so hate you. I looked at the Ninja and froze. "Lloyd, you shouldn't be up," I told my husband sharply.

He glanced at me. "I'm no longer sick."

I frowned. "How? You were extremely sick this morning?"

"Damn it wore off," Loro said unhappily.

My eyes widened. "You made him sick?"

He shrugged. "It was a simple spell. It uses a lot of strength for something that doesn't last long."

Lloyd's tail was whipping back and forth which told me he was pissed. "Uh, is there a chance you aren't mad at me for coming here?" I asked hopefully. He glared at me. "I'll take that as a no," I muttered.

He turned back to Loro. "Let the Empress go," he snarled.

Whoa. He's a lot more pissed than I thought. Loro removed the knife and threw it at Lloyd. Gaara's sand blocked it and Lloyd launched himself at Loro. But Loro suddenly disappeared. Crap, he can teleport. Lloyd used his wings to stop his attack then he stalked past me. "Let's go," he growled at everyone.

I looked at Mom. "Sorry about the roof. I can't control what Nightmare does."

"It's fine," she said. "I'm just glad no one was hurt." She paused. "Did you say you were pregnant?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

"I'm going to be a grandmother?"

I hesitated. "Only if you want to be part of our lives without being mean."

She thought for a minute then nodded. "I want to be there for my grandchild." She looked over my shoulder to the door where I knew Lloyd was waiting for me. "He doesn't seem happy."

"He's stressed and worried about me and the baby," I said without looking at him. "He didn't want me to come here without him either but he had been sick and couldn't even stand." I paused. "Mom, would you, Dad, and David like to come to the monastery sometime to visit?"

"Yeah!" David said making me laugh.

Mom smiled. "I'd love to. When would be a good time?"

Now I did glance at Lloyd. "Um, how's a week from today? It will give Lloyd and everyone else a chance to calm down."

She nodded. "Okay. What time?"

"Ten."

"We'll see you then."

I nodded and walked out of the room. When we went to the monastery, I went straight to our room and waited for Lloyd. He came in a minute later. "Why did you go without me?" He growled at me.

"You were sick," I said evenly.

"You should have known it was a trap!"

My control snapped. "Even if I had known, which I hadn't, I still would have gone," I snapped at him.

"Oh? And why the hell is that?" He snapped back.

"Because if I hadn't he would have killed my mother. Probably David and my dad too." I glared. "If you think I'd let my family die for me, then you don't know me very well, Lloyd Garmadon."

He stalked over to me and pinned me against the wall. "I do know," he said angrily. "But you don't even think of yourself when you go into these situations! You have a child inside you. Our child. So now it's not just you you're risking. It's the baby's life too. Do you not see that?"

I winced because I hadn't thought of that. But I was still mad so I continued talking. "So what would you expect me to do?" I demanded. "Would you have me let them die? You know I hate having people die for me. You know I hate losing people I care about."

"And what about me?" He yelled.

I froze. "What do you mean?"

"Does what I feel mean nothing to you? Have you ever thought of how I would feel if you died?" He snarled.

Now pain radiated through me. "I..." I had nothing to say.

"Forget it," he said and walked to the door.

"W-where are you going?" I asked.

"Out." He left.

I sat on the bed and started crying. What have I done?
