Bells

I woke up in a damp, smelly stone-brick room. I could see little light coming from a door in-front of me.

What the hell just happened? Flashes of the faces I saw fleeing and dying in the village appeared in my head. I grasped my head in pain. 

"You're awake you little runt." Said a smooth voice. I recognized it as the dark haired man. 

"Wh-Who are you?!" I shouted. 

"Pipe down." He replied. I was no longer able to speak. It felt as though an invisible hand was holding my mouth shut. "Shout like that again and I will kill you, no matter how talented you are. Got it?" 

I nodded my head. The invisible force released my mouth.

"You said that you didn't know the snow haired mage, right?"

"No sir, I do not." I said quickly, scared. 

"Hm. Interesting. What do you make of this then?" He reached into his robes and pulled out a card. 

Shit.

The invisible force returns and slams me against the stone wall. 

"If you want to die you should just say so." The man said. "I will ask one more time. Do you know the snow haired mage?" 

Why am I protecting someone who I had just met? Why am I keeping her safe? I could really die here.

All my life I have wanted to see the stars. I have wanted to visit and play with them. Anna had opened the path, which could have never opened, for me to move towards that dream. I used up every drop of courage I had in me.

"Go to hell." I said, looking him straight in the eyes. 

Anger flashed across the dark haired mans face, and he moved his hand as he did towards the arm-less man before. Before the man could finish his movement, a loud bell rang above us. He stopped suddenly. 

"You just got extremely lucky kid." He said hastily as he left the room.

"Lord Katari, please head straight to the princes room" I heard an unknown voice say behind the door.

"Where do you think I am going?" Lord Katari, the dark haired man, said as his voice was faded away.

I dropped back to the floor, holding my chest. My heart was beating about a million beats per second. 

Before I could catch my breath there was a thud behind the door. It opened again in front of me. My eyes opened wide. 

"Anna?" 

"Hello again, Naji." The snow haired mage, Anna said lightly.
