The car ride back to the office was suffocating in its silence. Fred and James sat in the vehicle, each man lost in his thoughts. Normally, the journey would be filled with chatter, but this time, the quiet pressed down on them like a heavy weight.
As they neared the company building, James broke the silence, his tone flat yet probing. "Anything to say, Fred?"
Fred’s gaze remained fixed on the road ahead, his mind a jumble of conflicting emotions. After a long pause, he sighed and replied, "I never thought Hamza was capable of something like this. If you'd met him earlier, you’d say the same. He was... vibrant, full of life."
James frowned, his voice tinged with impatience. "Fred, let’s be realistic here. Forget what you think you saw in him. Thirty minutes ago, he was ready to end it all. That’s the reality we’re dealing with now."
