That leaves Matilda. She must be the one to be memorialized. That cannot be good. But why is Viola left out? Does she hold no meaning? Could she be working with the killer? Or could it be because she has not been seen lately?

Was the scalped blond a convenient body to scalp, or was she murdered for her scalp?

“This seems more like a recent development with a chance of connection." Hugh finished his analysis out loud.

The carriage pulled up to the front of the gates. Hugh opened the carriage door. He walked over to the driver and paid him.

Hugh tapped on the gates loudly, hoping someone would be there. He was in luck when the gates swung open. He walked to the manor house, feeling his side with every step. He hunched over slightly all the way up to his front door.

Hugh turned the knob, pushed the door open, and peeked inside. "Matilda, Locksley," he called out.
