Confession

While Matilda and Hugh spoke upstairs, their front door opened. The man in black quietly entered the Manor. His eyes searched the foyer. He heard voices from upstairs so, he crept closer toward the dimly lit staircase.

"Now all that is left is to catch him." Hugh spoke while he finished cleaning the back of Locksley's head.

Catch who? Certainly not me. Who are they talking about? The man continued his eavesdropping.

A few maids came out of the dining room door and into the darkened foyer. They immediately spotted the cloaked man, silhouetted against the stairway by the small lamp.

The man shushed them with his finger to his lips.

The maids continued moving, but kept their distance, shooting him weary glances.

"A trade for a trade, Matilda." Hugh wrapped Butler Locksley's head.

Matilda nodded slightly, knowing what it meant. I do not want to go that route, Matilda thought. And then it hit her mentally. "Wait, how do we know it is him?"
