Chapter 89

Leah Dearcroft was in shock.

One minute she had been walking toward Walter who she had followed into the Dining Chambers. The next moment, she had just caught sight of the handsome face of Adonis Kane before someone had violently bumped into her.

She was on the floor, soaking wet in hot, stinging soup.

Leah had had to bite her lip.

Not only was the soup quite hot and burning her sensitive skin, but it was also a whole humiliation to look so bad in front of a room full of extremely wealthy people.

There was a slight trembling in her fingers when she heard her name being called out.

It was Walter's voice cutting through the air.

She was grateful to him for it as she looked up to see him walking toward her in a hurry.

The key, her mind said.

Her key was in her hand. She had to give it to him.

That was the only reason she had come all this way.
