Chapter 88

The Head Server barked more instruction at two more waiters who had stepped into the kitchen.

He looked at George, "I must step out now, George. I will give you a clearer walk-through tomorrow in the morning. For now, join the staff in placing the dishes on the table according to the numbers on the cards. No more speech from you to the diners. Do not take anyone's orders or clear the tables. Do not even fill their water glasses with water. You can start those when you are trained. For now, deliver the orders to the tables."

George nodded and the Head Server walked to the doors to step out, elegantly holding a large tray of piping hot food in his hand.

"And George," he called before he left the kitchen, "do not touch the hot food. You will only serve the desserts today."

He left the kitchen.

George was quiet as he let the kitchen move around him.

It was annoying him as the minutes passed. His pulse was quickening.
