After breakfast, Silas went to the office, while Esme headed to the hospital for her regular checkup. The gynecologist checked on her and the baby, her hands moving deftly and confidently.
"Everything is fine," the doctor said, a reassuring smile on her face. "The fetus is healthy." Her gaze drifted to the table calendar, and she wrote something on the prescription. "I'll see you next week again. Continue the same medication and do some light exercise."
She smiled warmly, passing the prescription toward Esme.
Esme felt a wave of relief wash over her, knowing that the baby was fine. Thanking the doctor, she left the chamber, her steps lighter and her heart more at ease. As she rounded a corner, she nearly collided with Joseph, his phone pressed firmly to his ear. She stopped short, gazing up at him, momentarily startled.
