Zane, touched by these enlightening souls, naturally reciprocated with them.
Within the [Realm of Dead], Zane's consciousness connected with the clouds in the sky, forming a large face with mist, while halting the next move in the [Realm of Dead].
"I believe you all understand, you're all about to completely dissipate."
"Now, I'll give you a choice. Those of you who want to continue existing, take one step forward."
After a while, not a single soul took a step forward. Zane sighed; he could sense their resolve to die. Since that was the case, Zane decided to grant them their wish.
But just as Zane was about to let the [Realm of Dead] continue its usual course of action, a nearly translucent soul, on the verge of dispersal, suddenly grabbed the hand of a child soul next to it and pushed them out into the open space.
Upon seeing this action, the surrounding souls, one by one, threw the souls of the children around them out as well.
Zane watched quietly from the air, neither stopping nor assisting their actions.
Once all the child souls had separated from their groups, the broken adult souls spontaneously knelt down, deeply bowing their heads to the ground of the [Realm of Dead].
Someone broke the silence: "Thank you!"
What began with sporadic voices gradually turned into a unified chorus, with all remaining souls shouting out these two words.
"Thank you!"
"Thank you!"
"Thank you!"
"..."
It was both shocking and poignant, yet joyful...
Zane watched them silently, saying nothing, but the Death God's power within his soul kept boiling.
"I've received your will. You will find rebirth in these children!"
"Farewell!"
"Thank you!" The voices in the [Realm of Dead] were clamorous; it wasn't clear if it was the souls thanking each other for their sacrifice or if it was Zane thanking them.
In the next moment, Zane released the instinctive restraint on the [Realm of Dead]. Instantly, the countless souls that were still kneeling and thanking Zane were crushed into pieces by an unknown force, and the fragments of countless souls turned into a soul storm, then differentiated into beams of light entering the souls of those ten million children.
Strengthening their souls, cleansing their memories, making them forget the endless torment of hell...
After the soul storm dissipated, the ten million children all revealed pure smiles, offering prayers to Zane's statue without any hint of selfishness.
Through the connection of faith, Zane received their prayers.
"Rest in peace, strangers..."
Perhaps it was the remnants of those deceased souls, or perhaps it was the effect of the children's prayers, but countless green glows emerged from the soul storm after its dispersal, rushing into the sky, decorating the grayish sky of the [Realm of Dead]. In that instant, the entire [Realm of Dead] seemed dreamlike and surreal, and countless spirits looked up at the sky in awe.
The scene was truly beautiful!
With the addition of ten million believers, the lake of faith within Zane's soul suddenly expanded into an endless ocean.
The surging power of faith continuously cleansed Zane's soul and body. Every pore on Zane's body emitted a dazzling golden light, making him look like a little sun.
Half an hour later, Zane gradually adapted to the sudden increase in power and stood up, stretching lazily. The bones all over his body made crackling sounds.
"Feels good!" Zane exclaimed.
However, this newly added power of faith did not fundamentally enhance Zane's strength. For the ignition of the divine fire and successful godhood, this power of faith was still far from enough. Additionally, Zane's newly awakened Death God's power would not accelerate its conversion efficiency with the increase in the power of faith.
However, this did increase Zane's reserves. What were Satan and God comparing anyway? It all boiled down to who had more followers and whose divine power was more adept at manipulation.
Next, Zane once again delved his consciousness into the [Realm of Dead] because there was a special soul waiting for his conversion. If Satan valued him so much, Zane was curious about what was special about Constantine's soul.
Zane released Constantine, allowing the rules of the [Realm of Dead] to imprint on his soul. However, at this moment, something miraculous happened.
Firstly, Constantine did not become mentally disabled with an intelligence of a five-year-old under the influence of the [Realm of Dead]. His soul was not torn apart but cleanly converted into one of Zane's believers.
Then, a small stream composed of the power of faith from over 12 million souls praying in the [Realm of Dead] gathered around Constantine, forming a golden egg.
Out of curiosity, Zane also separated his power of faith and poured it into the egg, wanting to see what changes would occur to Constantine.
Zane wasn't worried that Constantine would betray him now. The imprint of the [Realm of Dead] couldn't be erased unless his soul dispersed. In other words, from the moment Constantine entered the [Realm of Dead], he was destined to serve Zane for eternity.
With the infusion of countless powers of faith, cracks gradually appeared on the egg until, when half of Zane's power of faith had been consumed, with a resounding crack that echoed throughout the [Realm of Dead], Constantine hatched—or rather, Constantine finally completed his metamorphosis.
At first glance, there seemed to be no change at all, except that his complexion had changed from pale to a healthy rosy hue.
But Zane felt that Constantine had undergone a transformation. He had transformed from a human into a deity.
"A deity!" Zane's mind subconsciously floated these two words.
"I hit the jackpot! I didn't expect Constantine to have such potential. No wonder Satan would sacrifice 100 million souls for him."
A smile of excitement appeared on Zane's face. He summoned the newly reborn Constantine to the real world.
The scene changed, and the somewhat confused Constantine, upon seeing Zane, instinctively wanted to kneel down, but was stopped by Zane.
"Get up. I told you, I don't go for that Jehovah stuff."
After listening, Constantine smiled awkwardly and straightened his knees, which were already bent halfway.
"How should I address you now? Lord? God? or Master?" Constantine bowed his head humbly.
"Just call me boss. It's the 21st century; where did all those old rules come from? Relax a bit. You should know you're my first deity!" Zane said casually.
"Alright, boss!" Constantine's face lit up with a brilliant smile.
This time, he guessed right. Not only did he regain a new life and escape his miserable fate, but he also became an immortal deity who would always be subordinate to Zane. Although he felt a little tied down, he was exceptionally satisfied.
Most importantly, his current boss really suited his temperament. This sudden transformation in life even made Constantine feel that all the miseries of his first thirty years were just preparations for this moment.
"How do you feel now?" Zane asked.
