2 Villains

"Feels amazing, couldn't be better! I feel like I could punch through the Earth with one fist!" Constantine exclaimed excitedly, clenching his fist.

"It's just an illusion!" Zane rolled his eyes and mercilessly shattered Constantine's fantasy.

"Boss, can't you let me enjoy the moment first?" Constantine complained resentfully.

"No, get lost. What kind of manly man acts all coquettish!" Zane scornfully kicked Constantine.

Constantine didn't dodge, instead, he accepted the kick with a silly smile on his face.

"Look, it's so much better now. You're comfortable, and I'm comfortable. Just don't go doing that God stuff afterward."

"Okay, boss."

Constantine nodded in agreement. He felt fortunate to have such a casual boss. Fate was truly miraculous; just the day before, he feared his boss might kill him in a fit of anger, but now they were joking together.

"So, boss, what do you need me to do next?" Constantine asked seriously. As his subordinate, it was his duty to share his boss's burdens.

Zane rubbed his chin, suddenly realizing that his newly acquired deity didn't seem to have much to do.

"There's nothing for now. Do whatever you want. Stick to your old routine; it's fine. If I need you, I'll find you."

"Listen, I've got your back from now on. If anyone messes with you, I'll take care of it. And if anything happens, I'll take the blame."

Zane said with a smirk, sounding like a mob boss.

But Constantine couldn't take it all in. As a subordinate, his most important duty was not to cause trouble for his boss. He had that much self-awareness.

"Thank you, boss!"

"Okay, okay, go on." Zane waved his hand, indicating that Constantine could leave.

But Constantine didn't leave. Instead, he walked solemnly up to Zane and knelt down on one knee.

"I, John Constantine, pledge myself to you today.!"

This time, Zane didn't stop him. Instead, he imbued a trace of Death God's power into Constantine's forehead, leaving behind a totem—a black dragon. It was the totem of the death and represented Zane's complete acceptance of Constantine as his deity.

"I, Zane the Death God, accept your loyalty."

After Zane finished speaking, Constantine stood up, but he was no longer as stiff as before.

"Okay, boss, I'll take my leave now!" Constantine said and tried to push open the door of the study. He couldn't wait to show off to his friends that he had become a god now. What's the difference between wealth and the ability to roam the night in fancy clothes?

But Zane stopped him.

"You, leave from here." Zane pointed to the window of the study. The study was on the third floor of the villa, about ten meters above the ground.

Joke aside, Lorna was in the living room outside. What if something indecent happened? Zane didn't want Constantine, his temperamental deity, to be killed by him again.

After Constantine obediently turned into a golden stream of light and left through the window of the study, Zane took one last look at the ten million children's spirits in the [Realm of Death] and the green glow decorating the night sky. A genuine smile appeared on his face.

There was no pain, hunger, loneliness, or intrigue in the [Realm of Death]. For them, this place might be happier than heaven itself.

"Zane, did something good happen? You seem so happy." Lorna asked when she saw Zane's smile.

"Just saw a beautiful sight." Zane replied.

"Where? I want to see too!" Lorna's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Uh, well, that place is only accessible to the dead and me. You can't see it." Zane said awkwardly.

Lorna nodded slightly disappointedly, but she quickly forgot about it and picked up her game controller to play video games on the sofa in the living room. This time, she was playing with Little Bone. As for Bastis? Lorna abandoned her because she thought her playing with her claws was too bad.

For some reason, Lorna had become a teenage Internet addict during this time.

"Girl, is your university project going okay? I saw you working hard on it before, but now you seem so free." Zane asked in confusion.

"The theoretical stage of that project is all done now. We're just one week away from the experiment. My advisor is currently applying for funding from the university, so I have some free time."

As Zane and Lorna chatted, the villa's smart butler, 'Polaris', sent a message.

"Sir, Mr. Tony Stark, noted as 'Tony Big Shit', is calling. Shall I connect the call?"

"Go ahead!"

Zane nodded casually. He was curious about why Tony was calling him now. According to the timeline, by now, Tony had built his Iron Man armor, and the big villain Stane had been taken care of by Tony. What else could Tony want? It couldn't be to show off his new 'toy' he'd just made, right?

"Hey, Dwarf, what's up? It's rare for you to call me. Just so you know, don't even think about the shares I have in my hands." Zane lay on Lorna's white thigh in a comfortable position, with a wicked smile on his face.

But Tony Stark on the other end of the phone was not as leisurely as Zane. At this moment, his home had already been bombed, and the intruder was none other than Stane, who had recently gone to the Hydra's Russian branch.

Stane also brought a helper — Ivan Vanko, the character known as Whiplash who only appeared in Iron Man 2.

Most importantly, both of them were wearing Iron Man armor...

It had to be said that Stane was quite a character. Assigned to Russia by Pierce, he integrated that branch in just a few days and then focused on developing a new generation of Iron Man armor based on the wreckage of the Mark I.
