Prelude To New Mission.

Prelude to New Mission | 2

Chima stared at the dead monster and entrails lying on the floor, she turned away from it, took a deep breath and regained her composure.

She fell on it's body to heal herself as she felt the warmth of its body leave.

While resting, she suddenly had the uncanny and strange feeling of being watched by someone.

She turned and looked around but couldn't catch sight of anything suspicious.

After healing to the extent her body could reach, she stood up although there were still some small injuries here are there but they would heal quickly.

She was excited as there remained the last thing to do to a monster.

The treasure she ought to get.

The harvesting of its crystal.

She instantly knew where the crystal might be, it wasn't hard just so long you knew the basics.

Non-elemental monsters had their crystals inside the base of the base of their heads while elemental monsters had their crystals near their hearts.

Harvesting the crystal was a bloody business and after she'd successfully broke open the skull, she had to watch as the brain bounced until it landed on the water where the white froth had affected and the organ sizzled and dried up as soon as it touched it.

Chima got the crystal out, it was almost the size of a football and was black and transparent and wonderful.

She stared at it, finally she had gotten a crystal from her own hard-work, this was the reward for her hard-work!

She could now get why people aspired and dreamed of success and persevered, it was because of the satisfying feeling at the end of it all after getting the worth of their work.

Chima could feel it now as she gazed wonderfully at the beautiful thing in her hands.

She looked at the body carefully keeping away from the venomous area, wondering what to do with it.

It couldn't of course serve as food but the pincers and spikes could help for a weapon.

The assembling of a weapon didn't work just with the crystals alone.r The crystals only gave the weapons their unique properties according to the kind of creatures they came from.

So for this creature, it would be perfect for a sharp weapon, either some arrows or spear or a knife and it too would be good for an armour too although not necessarily needed.

Chima played with the crystal as she thought of what to do with the body, she heard rustling behind her and watering splashing in quick succession.

Bam!!

Before she could do anything, she was hit on the head making her fall, the

B attacker broke her fingers with their boots making her let go of the crystal. As soon as they took possession of it, they fled.

Chima stood up and found that they were two, one was on the run and the other was obviously left to stall and keep her busy.

Chima looked at the criminal accomplice with obvious anger etched on her face.

She moved suddenly and slightly towards the person, they moved back too, putting their feet right into the area affected by the Spidolf's poison.

The vandal suddenly becoming aware of the horrible situation they were put into tried moving their legs but visibly couldn't.

"Aaaaaaarg!!!!" A blood curdling scream was heard as the vandal's

body sizzled and caked. Their entire body tired white, then crumbled into dust on the green water leaving their black attire soaking.

It happened way too fast to be comprehended but Chima didn't wait for long, she knew the theif was getting away.

She dashed after him, they hadn't run too far because they believed that their accomplice could take care of her. But hearing the chilling scream, they had taken a headstart.

Chima ran after them, the splashing water, stray climbing plants and wide sturdy trees and the slippery nature of the marshy grouds hindering her. But the criminal's physique seemed to be tailor made for this jungle as they dodged and swinged and jumped the trees with agileness and swift nimbleness.

It wasn't that Chima was sloppy in her movements, it was that the vandal was more nimbler than her.

Chima soon reached a stalemate and knew that she'd lose them soon so with impeccable timing and aim which can only be replicated by a pro master as the vandal was twisting and running in zig-zags, she threw one of the short swords at them.

It stabbed their wrist stuck into a tree but they yanked it out like it wasn't part of their body and suddenly disappeared behind the large tree.

Chima stopped as she stared at the area where the vandal disappeared. She infused her eyes and looked around but she couldn't spot anything out of the ordinary except an area that looked slightly distorted but it disappeared before she could make anything of it.

Chima picked up her sword and looked at the blood on it, then at the small piece of flesh on the wet ground.

"Aaaaaaarg! I'm gonna kill you once I find you, you knave!!!" Birds resting peacefully flew away in shock at the loud and scary disturbance.

Chima walked back in a red and blue mood. Her hard work, gone just like that, for fool's sake she almost died for that thing.

She'd never really worked hard for anything and now something that she'd worked hard for, almost died and had a baby killed for just disappearing like that made her sad-mad.

It piqued her just how your hard-work could just disappear like that.

Na so life be, sometimes.

Still to make good use of time, she looked at the Spidolf and had an idea, she could use the poison appendages to make a weapon, specifically for that-

Chima took a deep breath as she didn't want to think any vulgars.

She started cutting them off, while the being extremely careful not to touch any of it. .

She finished and threw them into her inventory.

She heaved and looked at the black cloth in her hand, it was the clothing of the criminal accomplice.

She was hoping she'd find something that would help her track the vandal but nothing, except for a red metal circle.

Noises of whimpering suddenly entered her ears, she looked towards the direction of the sound and found the half mangled body of the young Spidolf.
