chapter 6

Enjoy....

"Twice my life was wasted, first before I met you, and the second when I couldn't find you."

I followed Eve's steps that didn't stop talking for a moment until we reached the kitchen. It's unlike the house; it carries a modern and elegant feel!

Suddenly, I found myself wanting to meet the designer of this house.

"Some meat would be good for dinner, wouldn't it?" She asked me, and I nodded calmly as I watched her open one of the fridges. The kitchen had two large fridges containing vegetables and meat, and another smaller one, probably for drinks.

Eve was quick indeed; I don't even know how she cut the meat into small pieces and prepared it with chopsticks so swiftly! She didn't even take five minutes to do it! "Those fools lit the fire outside, so let's spoil their fun and cook the meat outside!" She added enthusiastically before quickly pulling me behind her. I could only refocus on what she was wearing, trying to comprehend the situation.

Are you really going out without a shirt?

"Get away and stop your nonsense; I need the fire for the guest!" Her tone changed from strict to commanding before everyone looked at her with a kind of annoyance, executing what she asked for.

In the end, Eve appears to be strong-willed, contrary to what I expected!

"So, Alicia! Did you enjoy yourself?" She approached me with fists holding her hair while still shirtless. I gestured to her before hearing the tree boy call me!

"Human, come forward, I want to see you!" He added, trying to free himself without success. Another boy with Asian features stared at him mockingly!

I approached him calmly before seeing him smile, trying to reach out to me. He seemed friendly and silly at the same time, making me smile!

"So, what's your name, and why were you hung naked on a tree like this?" I asked, sitting below him as he tried to move, attempting to free himself again.

"My name is Liam, and I was hung by that nun over there because she felt jealous of me since one of them loves me!" He added, making me chuckle as the Asian guy returned his hair back, moving forward angrily toward us. He stood in front of us, looking at me with a kind of displeasure.

Oh my, he has cute features when he's annoyed!

"Don't believe him; Liam is the dumbest among us, especially after his stupidity surpassed Kevin's a while ago! He was hung here as a punishment to stop his silly pranks on us." He tried to explain his situation gently, so I nodded to him calmly. His English was nice, especially as he tried to make his voice sound rough!

"Take and enjoy your meal!" Eve interrupted us, directing a full plate towards me before distributing a little to the others and giving poor Liam his share.

"Wouldn't you come down to sit with Alicia for a while?"

"Elected to represent crying, perhaps to invoke sympathy from them, yet he remained suspended there, cursing the Asian guy, who turned out to be named Jimin!

"You seem very calm," I felt someone sitting in front of me, lifting my head to see him. I had glimpsed him earlier, sitting quietly while others were busy cheering Kevin on his dance.

"In reality, I am not sociable at all. I tend to be quiet and enjoy reading books," I replied calmly as he handed me a book, continuing the conversation with a calm smile.

"In reality, I love reading novels, and everyone here makes fun of it, even Kevin. Do you mind joining me in reading this book?" I lowered my gaze to the book and read its title. He reads romance novels, and well, I like that genre too!

I've always been obsessed with reading mythology books in addition to romance novels, as I was never a fan of series. They somewhat disrupt my peace, unlike my books!

He chuckled lightly before straightening up, assisting me in getting up. "I'm called Evian! Eve's younger brother," he gestured towards her at the end of his sentence, and I stared at both of them in surprise. They don't resemble each other at all, not in appearance nor character!

Evian is calm and peaceful, while Evelyn, on the contrary, is entirely different!

"Pleased to meet you, Evian. I'm Alicia!" I nodded, smiling gently, realizing that he also knows about me. He pointed towards the house, and I followed him, distancing ourselves from the noise.

"Do you want to accompany me to my library? It's quiet there, and no one will bother us!" He nodded to me lightly, grabbing my hand playfully, leading me to his personal library. It was a small room filled with shelves, a round table in the middle accommodating three people, and a window overlooking a beautiful part of the forest.

The moonlight sneaked in, creating a charming view of the room that I found very appealing! Quiet, some books, and my wide imagination! That's exactly what I usually need, and all of it is available here.

"Oh my, I think I'll steal the place from you, Evian!" I added dramatically, showing him how much I loved the place, making him chuckle quietly, gesturing for me to sit. "Here, you'll find books talking about the supernatural, myths, science, novels, and entertaining books as well. I'm glad you liked the place!"

He added with a calm smile before leaning on my head. Suddenly, he jerked, staring at my neck before throwing his eyes behind me, moving away with tension.

"Sorry, leader, I didn't notice your presence. Forgive me; I won't repeat it!" The place was dark, yet I could feel a strange aura behind me. I felt my neck tingling before I put my hands uncomfortably on it and turned around to look behind me.

The darkness prevailed in the place, and yet I managed to glimpse the shadow of a person standing there in the middle of the blackness. He started approaching quietly as Evian continued to bow fearfully.

It's the boy who saved me in the morning!

"It's better for you to leave quickly as long as I'm in a good mood!" The boy spoke, causing a deep chill to run down my spine. I didn't even notice how Evian disappeared so quickly, but I won't blame him. His tone is enough to make anyone flee!

He started getting closer to me quietly as my body froze, staring at him tremblingly. I don't know anything about him, yet I felt terrified!

"Stop walking." He stood near the window, his back turned to me. "Ali, leave the room! I don't want to see any nightmares tonight."

"Do you see me giving you permission to leave?" My hands stiffened on the doorknob after he halted me with his words, making me turn around with a questioning look.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that I'm about to create a disaster in a moment!

"Sorry?"

I added inquiringly, trying to hide my tension, for him to stop staring at the moon and turn around towards me.

"Sit!"

He pointed to the table, and I headed to one of the chairs, unable to confront him. His cold face is enough to make me understand that he is a controlling person who gets what he wants.

He turned back to gaze outside while I sat, observing him with millions of questions in my head.

Why the hell didn't he want me to leave?

"Do you know that cursing is prohibited in my presence, or did my uselessness not inform you of the rules?"

He muttered suddenly, making me blink in disbelief.

"But I haven't said anything!"

I denied with a hint of hesitation. I'm sure I haven't uttered a single letter!

"Hmm, but you can't deny that you curse a lot, just like Kevin loves to spy on things that don't concern him!"

He added mysteriously before I saw the door suddenly open, making Kevin's body fall forcefully. How did he sense it?

"Wait, leader, let me explain!"

Kevin spoke with difficulty as the other guy straightened up, and he simply walked him out.

"It seems that I need to tighten the punishments more until you all straighten up!"

He added calmly before his shadow disappeared, leaving me staring at Kevin with empty eyes.

I wonder what this guy is up to?
