Chapter 75 - Silver Class Monster

In the following days, Zach and the Rangers started making their plan as they mapped out the whole area where the horde was gathering. They make use of the remote-control drones to the fullest and even though there are times when they are discovered, the horde, however, doesn't get attracted to them and only destroys the drones.

It was only after two weeks had passed did they finally mapped out the horde and every shelter owner then finally received the order from Zach to head to their assigned position. Since they had numbers this time unlike the first time Zach had attacked a shelter, he made sure that they would surround the shelter to completely divide the horde since from the information they had gathered, they guessed that there were more or less five hundred of Undead in the horde.

Zach also made sure that this operation would be a success as he gave each shelter owner a Fire Bomb and Ice Bomb for them to use in time when they needed it. Following all the instructions that he gave, everyone then just waited for the appointed time that he set before they started the operation.

"I can't help but get nervous and excited at the same time." Patrick said while looking at the horde in the distance. Though he had great hope for them to win, he still couldn't help but be scared since what they were dealing with this time were hundreds of Undead with many bronze-class monsters in them not to mention the silver-class that Zach had guessed.

"The time is getting near. Make yourself calm and awake at all times as your role in protecting me from the other Undead while I deal with the boss is very important. I trust that you will watch my back until I kill the boss." Zach said while looking at Patrick and the others.

Hearing this, Patrick, Kazuya, Maria, Ishaan, and Luciana couldn't help but feel moved upon seeing Zach finally needing their help for the first time and that they could now fight alongside him once again. They then just smile at him and tell him that they will protect him at all costs.

With that, Zach smiled at them before shifting his attention once again to the horde as the appointed time was already around the corner. He then just took out two War Pistols from his inventory ready to play with them again and thought of how it would fair against a silver-class monster.

…..Boom....

Time passed by and not long after that, a huge explosion then sounded after nine fireworks from different directions exploded in the sky at the same time. The sudden commotion brought the attention of the horde from which a loud shriek could be heard before the Undead started moving.

After that, there could be found several arrows that were shot to the sky throughout the directions from which the fireworks came while snarling and marching sounds could be heard everywhere after the Undead got worked up.

Not long after that, gunshots and explosions then could be heard signaling the start of the attack from which Zach, Patrick, Kazuya, Maria, Ishaan, and Luciana were also getting ready to sprint to the center since everything would depend on the result of whether they can kill the boss or not.

"Let's go." Zach ordered from which he took the first step and started running while holding the two War Pistols in his hand. Just like before, he anticipated that there would be a number of Undead also coming in their direction and so they were already prepared for it.

While Zach was almost killing the Undead coming after them, Patrick, Kazuya, Maria, Ishaan, and Lucian weren't idle either seeing them holding their chosen weapons as they also killed the ones who were blocking their way.

As they were still far from the shelter, Zach and the others quite needed to deal with some Undead that hadn't gone that far in the other direction after they got attracted to them. With that, they could only kill them as quickly as possible not wanting the others to also fall back.

Bullets after bullets, Zach killed several Undead with his War Pistols and when they finally got near that was when they saw the remaining Undead that were not attracted to the commotion. What was surprising is that there were 10 bronze-class monsters with some of them being two new variants and a number of ordinary ones in the group.

Zach had already guessed about the Undead Archer, but it was his first time seeing an Undead Soldier who wasn't using a sword, but instead using a spear. But it didn't faze him as he immediately looked at the other bronze-class monsters around and saw that they were the ones he already knew about like Glutton, Reaper, and Smasher.

Seeing that he almost counted the remaining enemy, Zach then just looked at the monster that bronze-class monsters were surrounding and there he saw a huge figure probably as tall as the Glutton wearing a full set of armor while carrying a huge sword in its hand and he saw it looking at their direction.

Looking at the information about the Undead Knight, Zach really guessed that it was a silver-class monster but before he could appreciate and observe him more, he saw it suddenly raise its huge sword towards their direction before growling loudly.

"They are coming!" Zach said as he thought that the Undead Knight might have used one of its skills 'War Cry' because after it growls, all the Undead around it where even the bronze-class Undead started moving toward their direction.

Hearing this, Patrick, Kazuya, Ishaan, Luciana, and Maria immediately shifted their attention towards the incoming Undead. All five of them were nervous and afraid at the moment but they still chose to go on as they believed in Zach.

With her rare-class bow and arrow, Maria immediately sat down and targeted one of the bronze-class gluttons.

….Swoosh….

Five arrows were released one after another and Zach saw how it killed the bronze-class glutton after the arrows hit its head. Following the fall of the Glutton, he then just sprinted leaving them all behind before using his skill Blink as he appeared at the back of the incoming horde which was right above the Undead Mage. Without wasting the opportunity, he immediately aimed his War Pistols on its head wanting to take out the most tricky one among them.

….Bang….

Two bullets were fired and the Undead Mage was killed immediately, however, Zach wasn't done as he stepped on the dead Undead Mage's body before it fell down and at that very moment, he took out an Ice Bomb from his inventory and threw it out to the others and that was when he jumped away.

...Boom...

A huge explosion happened but it wasn't the same explosion as a grenade or the Fire Bomb as it did not create a fire explosion but instead, it froze everything within its range. Zach, after landing on the ground, saw that most of the Undead were frozen and died. He does know whether the bronze-class monster is dead but it does not concern him anymore as he immediately headed to where the Undead Knight was.

"Everyone!! I leave everything in your hands!!" Zach said as he aimed his War Pistols again but this time towards the Undead Knight which he also saw was already running towards him while carrying his big and long swords.

Zach fired the War Pistol 20 times at the incoming Undead Knight in just a span of seconds before using Blink once more and appearing 25 meters away from the Undead Knight upon seeing it already close to him.

Taking out another two War Pistols, Zach immediately fired it again thinking that no matter how great the armor it was wearing or how durable the sword it was using to block the bullets, he still thought that the power of the War Pistol was still greater after enhancing it to the highest possible rating.

…...Bang…x 15

After firing for another 15 bullets, that what's when Zach saw the Undead Knight start to slow down before finally stopping as its body was now full of holes while bleeding heavily added by the fact that he just leveled and gained 1 Free Attributable Stat Point.

"If I had this War Pistol and skill 'Blink' before, I probably wouldn't retreat and hesitate to attack this horde alone." Zach muttered as he thought that the enhanced War Pistol really was overpowered though he was curious just how strong a silver-class monster really was since it took quite a lot of bullets before it fell down. With that, he then immediately went to pick up the dropped items of the Undead Knight.

"Let's first tell the others that the boss has been already killed." Zach said from which he took out a flare from the store and shot it up to the sky so that the other's morale would rise when they knew that he had killed the boss already.

Not long after that, Zach then saw Patrick, Kazuya, Maria, Ishaan, and Luciana coming to his location which made him smile thinking that they must already kill the remaining Undead in the area.

"Holy Shit!!! You really did it, Chief." Patrick excitedly said while looking at Zach with great respect as he really killed a silver-class monster alone.

"Is this the silver-class monster? It really looks tough." Kazuya said while looking at the dead body of the Undead Knight together with Ishaan as they wanted to see how it was different from the rest.

"Chief, let us see the dropped items first. They must be items higher than the rare class, right?" Maria excitedly asked seeing her and Luciana could no longer wait to know what are the items that were dropped from a silver-class monster.

"I know you're all excited but we need to clean up the remaining Undead first since there were also a number of bronze-class monsters that went to deal with the others." Zach said before giving them orders to follow him to help the others.

With that, it took half an hour before the place finally became quiet as the fight was already long gone seeing all the Rangers gathered in the shelter together with Omar and his group looking at the dead body of the silver-class monster that Zach had killed while waiting for him to come out from one of the wooden houses of the shelter.

Meanwhile, Zach could now be found looking at the Shelter's Status Panel after becoming its owner just a while ago.

"So that's why I haven't seen a Shelter Sanctuary Portal outside. Now that I think about it, the Sanctuary Portal Totem was an item given by the system only in the tutorial. Now that the tutorial has ended, there is no way of getting one now." Zach muttered upon looking at the information of the Shelter.

"So, this shelter is called Undead Battleground. Quite a nice name." Zach said before closing the Shelter's status window and redirecting his attention to the next totem beside it fully knowing that it was the one that would allow him to see the main house's status window.

Following that, Zach then immediately evolved the main house to 10-Stars for convenience and then repaired everything that needed to be repaired. He also didn't forget to activate the Shelter's Protective Shield before finally coming down to see everyone waiting for him outside.

"This shelter is now ours and its name is Undead Battleground. Well, let's have a feast tonight to celebrate our victory without having any casualties on our end." Zach announced to everybody. He couldn't help but smile at them as he was glad that no one had died in the operation. With that, he immediately took out some equipment that they needed so they could prepare for the party tonight.
