"Are you crying?"
His voice sounds familiar, yet it sounds like someone I'm not used to talk with. I turned my back to see who it was, and
"Aiden?" I asked.
"Why are you crying?
Hearing that, I quickly wipe my eyes, and I am about to fall into tears.
"Nothing!"
"Wiping your eyes with an unwashed hand is so unhygienic; you're so disgusting."
When I thought that today couldn't be any worse, well, it can. There it goes—another boy pissing me off. My ego is so high, so I continue to wipe my eyes with my hand.
"Shut up. Hygienic or not, it's none of your business." Out of the blue, he suddenly grabbed my hand, held it away from my eyes, and wiped my eyes with his handkerchief.
Everything happened so fast that my brain failed to process what he did. While he wipes my left eye gently, I use my right eye to see him. Watching him be nice, without my realizing it, I was blushing. After finishing with my left eye, he moves to my right eye. Although it feels so weird, something in me enjoys this moment. I don't even try to push him away; I just let him keep wiping. I don't know how to describe my feelings right now, but all I can say is that I like them. I like the way he is wiping both of my eyes gently; I like the way he cares about me being clean; and I like the way he keeps holding my hand while wiping my eyes.
But this is no "love," right?
"Done..." He said as he pulled his handkerchief away from my eyes.
"Please wash your hands before touching your face; it is very unhygienic... Not to mention, you wipe your eyes... Please don't do that again. It's dangerous." I didn't know before that Aiden is actually a soft-spoken boy. I mean, the only time we talk is when I give him his letters, and usually he just nods or asks me the same question: (You're going to throw the letters away, right?)
"Thank you..." I said it awkwardly. How can I not? The boy who usually talks to me in a not-so-soft way suddenly talks in a very soft and considerate tone to me. Not to mention that he's still holding my hand! Sir! This is awkward!
"It seems like you really care about cleanliness Aiden." I said to shake off a little awkwardness.
No," he said simply.
"I just don't want you to fall sick," he said quietly.
"What?" I asked in surprise. Did I hear that right? Am I just imagining things? Did he care about me?
"What?" he asked me back.
"Did you say something? I thought I heard something."
"You heard what?" He asked me again. Playing stupid? I see....
"Oh, then I must be imagining..." If he wants to play stupid, then I will also play stupid.
"umm aiden..."
"What?"
"My hand," he said, showing out a surprise expression and quickly letting go of my hand.
"Sorry! I forgot!" He said it nervously. What's with this boy?
"It's just holding hands; it's not like you're killing me or what. Don't be sorry." I smiled.
Since when do I like this?
"Then I guess I will go back to class... Thank you again, Aiden."
[Time skips]
I pack my things up and get ready to go back home. Tomorrow is Saturday, so I can ease my mind a little. That's what I thought.
"Han! Let's meet tonight at a cafe!"
"Please, Saff, I want to rest!" I told him
"Remember what we had promised? You're going to help me? Don't act like you forgot," he states.
I let out a groan and took a deep breath before agreeing.
"What time should we meet up then?" he said while smiling. I swear to God, that smile will never be lovely.
"You are the one who decides. You have my number, right? Just text me what time."
"Don't leave me on read. I'll be seriously offended if you do."
"Shut up; I won't. Also, do you want me to bring Sarah?"
"NO! Don't bring her!" He said it quickly and loudly. The hell? I gave him a questioning expression because, why doesn't he want to?
"I'm not ready to see her... I'm scared that I will make a bad first impression on her." He explains
"Okay... Just text me, okay? I'm going home," I said as I left the class.
Later that day, at 9 p.m., Saff and I met up at this one cafe. Its aesthetic is vintage, which I find fascinating. I don't really enjoy going to cafes that have a modern interior design because usually those places are filled with a lot of people. Seeing this cafe reduced my anger towards Saff.
After getting our drinks, we sat on a table that was at the very end of the cafe.
"So why do you want to meet up?"
"Obviously because of Sarah!"
"Okay, what do you want to know?"
"Everything. I want to know what kind of person she is and the things that she likes."
We spent about forty minutes just talking about Sarah. I didn't expect, though, that I would actually know a lot about her. Sarah is a simple girl. She likes a neat boy who is humble and likes to share positivity with his actions. Which is nothing like saff at all.
"You do realize that you're nothing like her type, right?
"Shut up. I mean, I can try to be one!"
"Changing yourself for someone is not love.""
"It's fine if it's for your own good, let's be real: my attitude is ugly. Maybe this is a way for me to improve myself."
I honestly like the way he's thinking. I couldn't agree more that his attitude is ugly. Maybe he will manage to be a much better person for Sarah. I hope Sarah can change this guy.
"Do you want cake? They still have some left. I'm actually hungry." I said
"If you think that I will buy you one, then you're crazy because I'm not," he told me.
I would actually buy myself one if I didn't left my wallet at home. So now I have no choice but to make Saff buys me one.
"I already helped you by giving you information about Sarah! You should at least buy me cake!"
"Beg for me to buy you one. Cutely," he said with a smirk on his face.
And I did it.
"My dear, will you buy me a cake? I am hungry." I end with a pout. Okay Han!
"Now I see why boys at school want you." Saff said and squeezed my cheeks.
"Okay, choose which one; your boyfriend right here will buy you one."
"Yeah, don't say that again... I am disgusted, Saff."
He just smirked and ended up buying me a cheesecake.
He only bought a slice, which is for me. I eat the cake while he's playing with his phone. The cake tastes neither too sweet nor too sour. The cream cheese is very well made, so creamy yet soft that I was actually planning to eat the whole slice by myself; however, when I saw Saff secretly rubbing his belly with his hand, it seemed like he is also hungry.
"Saff, here, open your mouth," I said, trying to feed him from the spoon.
"Oh, I'm okay! Just eat the cake."
"I know you're also hungry, okay? Here, open your mouth."
He then opens his mouth, and I feed him the cake. The moment it enters his mouth, his eyes widen.
"Good right?"
He just nods with his wide opened eyes
"Here, eat the rest."
I give the rest of the cake to him. Without my knowledge, I was actually feeding him. I guess I get comfortable with Saff pretty quickly than I thought.
