He squeezed her more tightly to him and they rested until Liliana woke up and needed to be changed. After that, they slept on the couch in the den together, with a full view of Liliana's room and the comforting sounds of the summer city night. 


It was warm the next morning when Liliana woke. Once she was up, everyone had to be and not by choice. Her cries were piercing but as soon as her daddy came to get her, he could calm her down. After being changed and fed, things were all smiles again.
