Gradually, as Sarafina comforted her, Tabitha decided to let go and accept her fate. What has happened has happened. Speaking and reminiscing about them had only caused her heart to ache once more, making her shed tears for people who didn’t deserve it.
"Are you okay now?" Sarafina asked when she noticed that it seemed like Tabitha's wailing had subsided.
"I just want happiness, Sarafina," Tabitha replied, slowly withdrawing from the hug.
"You can find happiness if you consider Silas. He seems like a very good man. From what I heard, he's not fond of women. People speculate he's interested in men or, perhaps, he's... you know, unable. But suddenly, he came into a wedding party and carried a lady who turned out to be you. Why would he do that?" Sarafina paused, giving Tabitha a chance to respond.
"Exactly my point. Why would he do that?" Tabitha felt relieved that someone understood her perspective.
