Chapter 9

"Don't make fun of me!" Savannah said she was blushing. The man stepped back and returned to his earlier position. She even threw a small wooden stem at Phantom.

Savannah was as red as a tomato. The man was hit in the face, but it didn't hurt, and he laughed. Savannah moved away a little because of embarrassment and a red face.

"I am not making fun of you, Savvy; I am just amused by you." Said the man, staring intently at the woman. Savannah looked away from this.

The man sighed in surrender. Based on Savannah's story, she really is nave in this thing. She couldn't notice that Phantom was already flirting with her.

Phantom shouldn't expect much of Savannah's understanding in terms of flirting. He knows what he feels, but the woman is confused as hell.

"Let's just forget about it. You told me that you had questions. What is it?" He changed the subject. Because of what he did, Savannah seemed to have pulled out a thorn.

It faced the man again. She wants to know and get to know her companion, so she doesn't worry.

"Why did you ride on the Cruise Ship?" She asked. Phantom knew Savannah would ask this.

The man drank from a bamboo glass made by Savannah. He had no choice but to drink it. They had no other necessities available on this island.

"Just like you, I wanted to escape the ruckus in the city. There was this obsessed woman who was shouting that I impregnated her when I didn't even touch her. I am a lawyer—a famous one, to be exact. That woman was ruining my image and my family's name. My parents were angry, especially my so-called mother." He answered her truthfully. Savannah listened intently.

"The public knew I didn't touch her and I didn't impregnate her, but that woman was crazy and kept on doing it. My parents keep on bugging me, and I don't have a choice but to leave my life in the city for a while because that cunning woman is creating a ruckus and ruining my dignity. That's why it looks like what we got on this tour was not a vacation but almost a disaster," added the man.

They even sighed together because they knew they were experiencing the same thing now.

"Maybe the woman is crazy over you; that's why she wants to screw you," Savannah said jokingly to the man.

The fruits they eat are just next to them, so they are taken separately while talking and eating.

Phantom shrugged. "I don't even know her personally. Another thing is that if we come back to the Philippines, I will never like that girl, especially now that I have a reason," he said to Savannah while looking at her.

As if he were referring to her, saying that she is the reason why the man wouldn't like the crazy woman ever. For the nth time, Savannah reversed her gaze. The man was giving her more butterflies in her stomach.

Phantom knew the woman would have that reaction. He let her be. He will never take back what he said.

"I like you, Savvy. I like you so much that I can't get you out of my mind." He suddenly confessed, making the woman snap her attention to him.

She was looking at him with an are you serious look. "I am serious, for the past few days that I have been with you. I didn't feel any boredom, nor did I feel that I needed to go home quickly. What's on my mind is that it's okay to be here as long as you're with me," added the man without taking his eyes off Savannah.

Savannah is unbelievably looking at him. She can't believe it. "You are just confused, Phantom. I am not the kind of girl you would like. You see how ungirly I have been for the past few days. You didn't like me; you are just amazed at what I can do." The woman said it coldly.

Phantom sat down because of what Savannah said. He already knew why the woman was cold to the man, but this was no reason for her not to believe Phantom. Maybe she can see the sensitivity in his eyes.

"I am not confused! I am serious, d*mn it!" The man cursed. He was trying to say what he felt, but Savannah didn't believe in him.

"You are! How many days have we been together here? You can't like me right away! I am not a soft woman who immediately believes sweet words from a man." Savannah was determined to look further out to sea.

Phantom ruffled his hair in frustration, and unexpectedly, he lifted the woman's shoulders and presented her to him.

Savannah had no time to react because Phantom kissed her with intensity. Savannah didn't expect that. Their lips locked, and the woman's eyes became huge. She was shocked that she had no strength to stop Phantom. The man savored the moment for a while.

She liked the kisses he was giving her. But when she realized what had happened, she pushed the man and slapped him.

"F*ck you for stealing my first kiss! Jerk! No, I don't believe you; you're going to force me. Make an effort to make me believe!" Savannah shouted.

She staggered to her feet while holding her lips, where Phantom had placed a kiss.

The woman left the hut and ran somewhere. Savannah was not the only one who was surprised by what the man did, because even she was surprised by what he did.

He just looked in the direction where the woman went. Phantom deeply sighed. He didn't follow her anymore because of his sore feet. He also left her to think. He was left alone while he remembered the kiss that they shared.

The man smiled slowly, as if he were thrilled with what had happened. 'I am her first kiss! First kiss! F*cking hell! That woman is mine!' He shouted in his mind.

He can't take away his thoughts on the kiss that they shared. He was on cloud nine. The man seems to be flying in the clouds, and his feelings are incomprehensible.

'Her lips are the sweetest lips I have ever tasted. It's like a sweet apple on my lips.' The man is daydreaming while his mind is flying.

The man was stupid; he seemed to be a young teenager and not thirty years old based on his behavior. He was silent for a long time before he heard her voice shouting. He thought he was just imagining, but no, she was there, running towards their made-up house.

"Don't wave, Phantom! Don't you dare wave at them!" She shouted. His forehead was wrinkled in confusion.

He saw her pointing at the not-so-large vessel. He frowned. This is their rescue! Why would she be stopping him? He shook his head at the woman, but the woman also shook her head vigorously.

"Force yourself to stand there before they see us! Those are pirates, idiots! Don't get their attention!" The woman screamed as she approached him.

The man swallowed, and his eyes widened. He is a lawyer, and he knows that pirates will take them as hostages, and probably Savannah will get raped by those people.

He helped her quickly, and she moved quickly too. Savannah also destroyed what she built so that there would be no evidence that they were here.

"Damn! Damn! Why now?!" Savannah whispered as they ran into the forest.

"We need to go to the cave. We should hide in the meantime." Savannah said without looking back and looking at Phantom.

They found a cave while they were exploring the island. Savannah moved some of their things here in case heavy rain or a typhoon occurred. Good thing the woman was smart and did this; at least they had something to use while inside the cave.

They had stayed near the shore for emergency purposes, such as finding rescuers and people who could help them. But now it looks like they had to stay in the cave for a while until those pirates were out of their sights.

Phantom didn't complain about the girl's careless support of him. They are both nervous, and they both know what will happen when the pirates catch them.

Sweating, they reached the cave. They leaned against the rock. They were breathing heavily while thinking of the consequences if pirates captured them.

"Thank goodness, thinking ahead, Savvy, we're definitely doomed if I'm the first to notice them."
